'New' Arts Class

It was past 10am by the time I got home after my breakfast with Eileen and although I was feeling very sleepy, I waited at home for Papa to pick Renee up from the school - to ensure that she takes her nap. However, when she got back, I knocked out before her, haha. Then, about 20mins later, I awoke to her getting outta her bed. Luckily hubby re-enforced that she goes for her nap and she came back next to me, which woke me up finally...

As usual, she wasn't happy being woken up from her nap(I'd normally try not to let her take too long a nap, ard 45mins to 75mins) and threw her usual tanthrums during practice which began shortly after her lunch. Needless to say, she's got a good dressing down.

It was again pouring hard as we were getting ready and thank goodness Papa's came back to send us there.

If I'm not wrong, Renee's the only new student to this class due to the transfer but before we could 'settle her down', we were all caught up by the crying scene of a returning chinese student, brawling to her mom and grandma sitting right outside the classroom in mandarin, "wai po... wai po... ni yi ding yao zai wai mian deng wo!" and the teacher had to keep holding her to soothe her nerves whilst she tried to slide out of the teachers' hold to get to the door. Pooor thing, I think most wouldn't quite expect such a big reaction from a 5 year old(this is for the K1&2s and I'm assuming that she's of the younger level), and for a moment, Renee was alittle shaken by it but after I've explained to her calmly "she's afraid, but you're not right, darling?", she was calmed and when I added "ok then, you enjoy your class ok", she nodded again and we both left the premise.

The environment's quite different from the one at Nafa Kindergarten(toilets are further down the hall but there're interior washing basins in the classrooms) and the room's smaller. The chairs are also stained with paints/colours-evidence of artwork, :). Renee even commented 'aiyeh, so dirty' and tried to dust the 'dirt' away which obviously she can't, lolz. They need not remove their shoes here, unlike as required by the Kindy class where they were required to sit on the floor, but they were given stools to sit on, whilst listening to the lesson.

Hubby had initially forgotten that this is a 1 hr 15min lesson and thinking that it's yet another 2hr class, he thought to tackle some work before coming back to pick us, hahaha. In the end, he decided to stay and we went for his roti prata snack, :).

At 10mins to 5pm, I suggested going back to check things out and through the cleverly concealed windows, we managed to see that she was doing fine and had mingled well with her new friends - this group seemed friendlier too, :D. As we waited outside, the already increasing crowd of awaiting parents got bigger and by the time the class was eventually dismissed at around 5:25pm, the teacher apologised(which I find was really nice, cos since it were the students being late that she had to start late and thus, ending late) and asked to speak to another mommy and myself. She merely wanted to give me some info and pleasantly surprised, she told me what she's observed about Renee(was surprised 'cos I dun expect such a comment from an arts teacher).

In order for me to be familiarised with the route(oh oh...), I took over the wheels despite the heavy traffic and we headed back to have our dinner at Compass Point(I suggested dining at somewhere near home 'cos quite sick of eating out, hahaha).

Renee had seemed to enjoy these 2 days' classes and she's also very glad that it's Friday and that she could go to bed later, hahaha - in fact, she's only just gone to bed despite looking tired since 10pm, :).
