Tired Girl...

We've been good and had stayed home since Monday but mommy's beginning to feel bored and had almost brought the kids out this afternoon, heee.  Then, remembering that the weekend is drawing near, I decided to just bring them downstairs to play instead.  Renee's happy enough with the decision, :).  So, right after she's done her practice, I geared up the stroller and put baby on it, hoping that by bringing her down more often on the stroller might help to get her more used to being on it, :).

After dinner, I cleaned baby up and jie jie wanted me to shower her too, aiyoh!  Sooo busy me, hahaha.  However, when I came out of the shower, Renee pampered me with a good session of massage.  She started off with a good punching massage but being young, she got tired and soon changed to a gentle rub...  Although she wasn't able to help relieve that hard lump of tensed up muscle on my back(resulted from the constant carrying of bb in the carrier I think), she's made me felt so comfortable that I almost fell asleep, :).  Of all the times she's given me massages, I would say tonight's the best and she didn't complain nor asked if she could stop already like she used to do at times in the past.  Maybe because it's been awhile since she's done this or perhaps she knew that I'm really aching... :D(papa asked why she's only giving me a massage n she replied "cos mommy is always carrying meimei" awwwww).

She must have been very tired from the massage, 'cos she KO once she hit her bed, without the usual urgings of papa tucking her to bed and talked to her, lolz.

Green Porridge

We've got fresh supply of foodstock today but luckily, right before I started cooking the porridge today, I suddenly remembered that I didn't give Renee porridge with meat at such an early stage and so, I just added a portion of pork in for flavour again and only blended the porridge with spinach for Rachel, *phew*, heee.  She seemed to like it!  Shall see how she reacts to it tomorrow, heee.

1st Rice Porridge

Stopping the cereal, I had wanted to simply resume full bf but I don't think baby Rachel would be happy about it, especially wen she's been looking forward to her cereal meal everyday hahaha.  So, i decided to cook porridge yesterday for her to try instead, however it was bland and abit too pasty after I've blended it, so she didn't quite like it, only after I've added some EBM, then she took more...

Although the ch physician had told me that it's ok to give meat(blended of cos) now but I'm still quite reluctant, plus I do not have stock of 'good' lean pork at home.  So, on sister Eileen's advice, I put in slices of the lean pork that I have into the porridge, just for abit of flavouring, then I added in more EBM today, into the porridge when I was blending it.  She finished the whole bowl! It's marketing day tomorrow and I shall have the right kind of pork and vegetables to prepare her porridge with! :)

For her milk feeds... As I've been expressing milk to add into the cereal, I had thought I could perhaps express once more and I could try bottle feed her again, since she's been taking water from the bottle nowadays.  However, after 1 night, she started to reject bottle feed last night and even stronger tonight , haiz...  I hope she could sleep through every night even on direct bf(she slept through when we gave her BM in a bottle leh...). Arrrgggghh, I'm not going to continue with the  night expression liao, wasted all my efforts!...

Kindy Graduation Photo Shoot

Suddenly remembering that they'd be taking the photos today, I quickly reminded Renee last night, to put on the requested attire(white collar shirt with black skirt and black shoes), and told her to take her medication Before changing into the white shirt, hahaha.

I had wanted to wake up earlier today, to tidy up her hair but I'd lost track of time when I resumed my sleep after feeding Rachel(whom was good to sleep through last night), haiz...  By the time I remembered, Renee's already getting out of the house, :(  Then I worried myself if she's managed to tidy her hair up by herself... I used to do up her hair before her school's photo taking sessions and this time round, she'd be shot in her graduation robe leh, hahaha. Anyway, she seemed to have, 'cos I saw her walking in with her hair neatly held up by a hairband when she came back from school, :).  I only hope the photos would turn out nice.(they even shot the class photos in the park!  If my girl told me correctly that is, :>.  How interesting...)

More Goodie Bags...

Yesterday, Renee came home with a birthday goodie bag from her classmate and today another.  Today's goodie bag gave me another set of selections/idea(a nice story book, pack of silly bands, a nice pink cupcake, 2 girly rings[for the girls], etc etc) that are worth considering, especially if the group is not that big.  Even papa whom saw the items also commented that the goodie bags given by friends in this school seem to be more meaningful/interesting(like GUG's?), :).

Bye Bye Cereal...

Baby Rachel's been having rashes on her face and they seem to worsen by the day(sometimes it even spreaded to her eyes!) and I had wondered and worried if it's eczema.  So, since we're bringing jie jie to the chinese physician for follow up on her diarrhoea(getting better though), we booked an appointment for meimei to consult the physician as well.

It turned out that Rachel's rashes are due to heatiness and the physician said that she's very heaty now.  I told him that I've also noticed that the rash seem to have appeared a while after I've started her on cereal.  I then asked if I should stop and he said yes, especially now.  I also took the opportunity to ask his opinion about feeding babies with brown rice and he said that though it's nutritious, it is actually not necessary unless the child is not absorbing nutrients from the milk/food well, then we should consider giving it, else it'd only cause heatiness and it'd be like 'nong qiao fan zuo'.   He then added that cereal is also not very necessary as well (this is what Rachel's PD had said and even Renee's PD had told me the same in the past too).  With these advices, coupled with my own thoughts and what I've gathered from baby book/internet, I'm going to stop giving Rachel the cereal(aiya, just opened up a new packet! who wants to have it, it's organic!) and I'd perhaps start her with pureed home cooked porridge and slowly add in vegetables/meat for variety/added source of iron, nutrients...

Renee had requested to go for a snack after their medical appointment and our errands and we went over to the Macdonald's at AMK park.  Thereafter, we headed to AMK hub where we bought more groceries again - aiyoh, seems like we go to the supermart at least twice a week, every week, there always seem to be something to buy and we always end up with quite alot of merchandises each time, goodness...

*just now fed Rachel the chinese medicine and though she seemed to recognise the 'items' I've prepared to feed her with, she wasn't quite prepared for the actual taste! hahaha, it's quite funny to watch her opening her mouth in anticipation only to squirm at the 1st taste, heee...  She started to cry when she got choked at the 2nd squeeze(using syringe), and not happy to take on more liao(but still managed to finish that dose) hahaha.

F1 Craze

This year, Hubby tried to obtain tickets to the race but it was too last minute and he didn't manage to(he said he has to act earlier next year...haiz).  But, we still changed my plan from going to Bugis Junction to Marina Square/Suntec instead...

Once we got there, he went around checking out for a good spot to catch a peek of the race before meeting us for our dinner at Dian Xiao Er and then, we went separate ways again, :).  On 1 hand, I was afraid that we might end up going home too late because of his watching the race but on the other, this gave me more time to look for my things and also allowed Renee a good 1 hr play at the playground - so all's happy, :D.

Luckily, we didn't stay there for too long 'cos he's also very tired from his golf game this morning and we left the place before 9pm(still quite late lor, since tomorrow's a school day..., wonder if sundays' outings have to be cut when she starts Pri 1.....).

A Gift For A Friend

Knowing that my friend would be dropping by to pass Renee's key chain/charm back to us, I quickly went to buy the little carebear toy(not sure if I've got the correct size, based on my 'getting worse' memory but I do rem that she wanted a purple one)I've promised her younger one.   When Renee heard that I'm getting Ethel something, she said she wanted to get a gift for Emma too, with her own pocket money!  At the store, she couldn't decide on which set to get for her friend and had wanted to get 2 sets, hahaha but I reminded her of her 'drying up' coin bank but she was still ok with it.  In the end, as we were rushing and she didn't have the extra time to look for another, she had to settle with buying only 1 set.

As Renee hasn't fully recovered from her diarrhoea(we havn't brought her to the ch doc), PLUS I hadn't recuperated enough sleep, what with Rachel waking every 2.5hrs to nurse(not sure if it's due to her jabs, but then again, she's also been waking up earlier the past few nights, to nurse... could it be growth spurt too? Almost dozed off at her 1st nite feed demand, luckily didn't man, else I might have dropped her!), I had thought to stay home today but suddenly remembering that we would need to get her a pair of black shoes for her kindy graduation photo session, we went to Vivo City.

Papa has to attend a dinner tonight and since we'd be heading home early,  I told Karen that they could come over.  They were alittle later than expected and though Renee was a abit impatient whilst waiting, she didn't want to, when I told her that we could perhaps arrange to meet up with them next week, hahaha.

Karen brought her 2 Es(hey, mine also 2 of the same beginning alphabet, 2 Rs, :D) up and their nice papa waited patiently at the carpark while the girls played a while... It's too short though, so hopefully we could invite them over again some other day...

3 Hours Sleep

I had only gone to bed at around 1am and 1 1/2 hours later, Renee came knocking on our door, "mommy, I want to 'pang sai'", oh my!

Earlier, she's already had 1-2bouts of diarrhoea and she's asked me to check her bowels to confirm if she's hving diarrhoea, yeeeek!(but what to do? most of the time, it's the mommy who gets the 'sh**' jobs la) and she almost cried when I told her she was, silly girl, hahaha.

Then, thinking that she's finished her business(I had to wait quite a while for her IN THE TOILET!), she lied down on her bed and told me that her tummy's still not well and I went to fetch the 'ru yi you'.  After applying the oil, she cited another bout of bowel movement and again, I waited in there for her to clear her 'waste', haiz... I guess that's the ultimate lah, I couldn't resume my sleep thereafter and when I finally was about to turn in again, Rachel woke up for feed, at 4:45am!  I didn't get to sleep til around 6am and I can't sleep in later nor take a nap thereafter, 'cos baby would be having her jabs the same morning, arrrggghhhh.  Poor baby cried badly again, 2 jabs today.  At the thighs, so it's more painful...

As Renee had missed Rachel's previous immunisation appointment and wasn't happy about it, we've fixed today's at a timing when she can go with us after her Berries lesson.  However, as papa had work to attend to, she wasn't quite happy that she didn't get to go to the playground at Paragon thereafter.  I told her that if she passed the piece she's been playing, today, then I'd bring her down myself one of the weekdays.

After her violin lesson, we went over to Compass Point to get some stuffs(luckily I still rem to get my eggless cube cakes before we left the mall) but again, forgot some other stuffs, as we were rushed by papa(again...).

Ribbons Off

Oh dear, people have been commenting that Rachel's got a strong grip/hold and last night, she proved it further by pulling the ribbons off her socks, geez!  I've tried tugging at the ribbons when I first got hold of them and found the glue that hold the ribbons to the socks quite strong.  They can even withstand the pull of the washer, but didn't survive baby Rachel's, hahaha.

Good thing I'm still able to salvage these ribbons(I think, heee) and I shall put them to good use and 'beautify' her with them hahaha... :)

Review @ NDC

As we have not fixed a date for the surgery, we went back to NDC today to do so.  The timing was just nice I would say, 'cos the doctor's able to see how Renee's adult teeth had grown now.  She suggested hving them extracted during the surgery since the area would be numb(otherwise, could just leave it to nature).

The surgeon was summoned over to her room and after a look, he wanted to have Renee under GA but the doctor suggested that as Renee seems good enough to co-operate, perhaps we should just let her go on LA instead.  Ok, that's what I'd prefer too but I'm not sure if she'd be able to tolerate the injection part.  Anyway, we still have a few good months to the actual date, we shall see how things go...

Although this is a common thing/surgery, the word 'surgery' still made me feel down and thus I hadn't the heart to go home straight away.  So, we ended up at Bukit Timah Plaza where both Renee and I snacked at the restaurant that served her favourite pizza.  Then, we walked around the mall for a while before finally embarking on our grocery shopping and we met my SIL, aunty Naoko at the supermart!  However, as we needed to rush off since papa's already on the way to pick us up, we didn't stop to chat... Perhaps we could arrange a meetup at that mall  in the near future, since we know now that they go there every Wednesday!  :)

Ants Project

It's been a while since Renee's come home with the announcement of a school project(which I used to dread) but this time round, this school's quite different(so far their projects are so much more interesting as compared to her prev kindy) - they're more to kids' capability level which would allow the kid(s) to take on the task more independantly, which I feel should be the main purpose of these home projects/assignments.

Before the September school holidays, they were asked to bring pictures of food to the school since the topic was on the food pyramid and the day before the holidays, she came home with this, plus all the work she's done at school :

Last week, they were each required to bring an insect to school on Monday and papa helped her to 'catch' a red ant(quite big) during his Sunday golf game, lolz.  However, the ant didn't quite survive and died when we got home from our outing.  Renee was afraid to bring it to school, as the teacher had informed them to bring 'live' insects.  As we do not have enough time to catch another, I told her that it's ok, she could try explain to the teacher(s) that the ant was indeed alive when it was caught but it somehow didn't survive whilst being captive(in a box).  She came home today happy 'cos she wasn't reprimanded :) (well, I guess we all know that this would happen when we capture insects, :>).   The next thing they have to do was, to go onto internet to source for info on Ants.  She was supposed to just copy down the information gathered so papa guided her on which part to extract from the notes they've found and 'cos papa had accidentally printed all the pages than what's really needed, she took the initiative to decorate her notes with the pictures found on the pages and we kinda like the idea of it! :

MaMa?

Not sure if it's so but both Renee and I heard Rachel called out 'mama' this evening!

I've left Rachel in her cot whilst her jie jie played with her in 'their' room and when I came back to fetch her to the living hall, she was all excited when she saw me and that's when she did that magical act!  Thereafter, when we asked her to try again, she couldn't, she just opened and closed her mouth trying to murmur the word but no sound came out, :(.

Then, as we were hving dinner(we placed her on the exersaucer next to our dining table) and she was making noise, I jokingly told her "call mama again and I'll carry you" and we all heard "ma" but I didn't carry her and so, when I asked her to do that again, she didn't....

Whether it was a mere incidental greeting or was she really ready to do that, I don't really mind, I'm just happy I heard that first murmur! :D

Rachel's 1st Ride

Had wanted to bring Renee to the Jacob Ballas children garden this morning but papa was too tired to do so(and I'm the one who has only 4hrs sleep!), so I just let both of them sleep on.

Then, before we went out in the later afternoon, I asked him to fix up the quinny zapp extra stroller as I wanted to check if Rachel would need a head support and he must have found me silly since Rachel can already support her head quite steadily now, hahaha blurr mommy, :D.

During the car ride, Rachel had fallen asleep as she was still straddled close to me by the carrier, but when I put her down on the stroller, she was alittle 'frightened' as it didn't feel as snug as the infant car seat(I rem she was also alittle afraid during her 1st few rides on the infant car seat) and had held-on rather tightly onto the straps, lolz.  We teased her abit and she began to relax with her laughter.

Thinking that she's ok with the stroller, I left them in search of my stuffs but when I came back to the playground, papa was carrying her and told me that she cried.   So, it's back to carrying Rachel on the carrier again for me...

After our dinner, again, I tried putting Rachel on the stroller and she seemed ok until I brought both Renee and her to Takashimaya where the sight of so many aunty sales assistants might be too overwhelming for her(but she didn't cry til they've played with her for a while...).  So, this is Rachel's 1st 'upgraded' ride on the stroller, hope it'll get better soon...

The Lantern Festival

The last time I went to the Chinese Garden was sooo many years ago, and it was also during the lantern festival(free tickets from Co.'s supplier then).  I remembered the spectacularity of its lantern display and had always wanted to bring Renee there when she was younger.  However, hubby's always saying that it's far(from SK that is, plus he always went to Jurong area for work, so it's like silly to come home from there and to go there again, to him la, :D) and so we've never got the chance to do so...

This year, being nearer(or rather at the central), I decided to bring my kids there(thanks to Sharmaine for inviting us 'cos it reminded me about it!  But as we needed to go to my mom's this Sun, we went on our own tonight instead).

After her session at Berries, I let her take a nap before her violin lesson and right after it, we headed straight to AMK hub(again!) for our dinner and groceries shopping.  Renee's very excited when she learnt that we'd be going there, but it was because she had thought I meant the Jacob Ballas children garden, hahaha(that place should be visited during daytime lah!).  However, it ended up that she was still the one who's had the most fun, with the rides, :).

She was almost persuaded to try on these 2 but backed out in the end, :)

As for the lantern display at the CG... it was nothing comparable to the view I was greeted with many many years ago.  This festival thingy will last til 18 Sept and I wouldn't suggest for anyone to go there unless U really have nothing better to do...(hv informed Sharmaine the same, so that she won't waste her $ and time there, hehehe) :D.

The Trampoline

Not long ago, I sighted a trampoline at the gym-room downstairs and as the gym's a small one, this also comes in a smaller size, which is good for my kids! Errm, I mean Renee, hahaha, Rachel can't bounce on it yet, :)  In any case, Renee hasn't tried on one before and she doesnt know that it exist in the gym yet.
Today, in the mood to bring the kids down, and since she's done her practice earlier as bided, I decided to bring her down to try it.  She brought her skooter along, luckily, 'cos there didn't seem to be a switch for the air conditioner when we got to the room and although it was windy enough when we opened up the door, we decided to call it quits after a short while and she went skooting at the playground instead, :).  Rachel?  She just looked on whilst her sister played and perhaps feeling bored as she can't do the same, she soon fell asleep on the carrier, heeee.

Before we head back home, I went to retrieve mails(the other pair of socks + wrist band arrived!) and thought to approach the guard house about the air-conditioner at the gym, but it started to drizzle and we decided to just go home, :).  Next time, we'd go try again, and perhaps, will get Renee to try the exercise ball? then(dunno what u call that, hahaha),:D.

Back home, again, Renee was excited at the sight of the socks and even more when she saw the wrist band!  She quickly asked to try it when I put it on Rachel's hand and soon she began to complain that she doesnt have one, haiz.  Then, it became my job to make her one, aiyoh!

Again, she complained that there's no diamonte on hers, so there it is, hahaha...

As a set on Rachel

The line(marks) on her legs were due to wearing these(sup to be knee guards, heee), :)

Princess Socks

My recent order of some girly/princess socks are finally here today!  Forgetting that I've got them under registered mail, I went to collect mails from our  mailbox and came back disappointed.  However, couple hours later, the postman delivered them to our doorstep and we're overjoyed!(Re and I.  In fact, she was more excited than me and had quickly took the pkg over from me as I was on the phone when the postman came...) lolz.

Socks and Knee Protectors(can even work as leg warmers for my baby, lolz

Angel winged romper(still too big for Ra though)

Why the pink one look bigger? lolz

This jie jie ar, aiming to have the knee protectors, aiyoh!

Next order on the way... comes with a matching wrist band!

Think I'm crazy, always buying baby stuffs when my sister already gave me soooo much!

Mid Autumn Festival

Renee has never really got to 'carry' a lantern like the way we used to(or even the other kids we saw down our SK block last time) and this year, I make sure she gets to do so.

I had intially wanted Yunita to prepare extra fried wantons and chicken wings to bring down but papa only wanted to eat mooncake downstairs.  However, Renee wanted so I kept some from our dinner, heeeee(which only both of us ate in the end anyway, lolz).

We had wanted to share our mooncakes with our neighbours and we met them, 1 after another on our way to the poolside, which was just nice, 'cos we could let them try what we've brought down with us, before bringing 1 to them each.   To my surprise, these caucasians liked it! hahaha.

Tonight, we were supposed to be watching the moon and 'playing' with the lanterns but in the end, both Renee and I were busier eating the snacks whilst papa enjoyed his mooncake with his cup of coffee, than doing what's originally intended, hahaha.  Rachel?  Of course she can't appreciate yet, she just fussed whenever I sat down, :D.

Not sure if it's due to the haze, we weren't able to see the moon nor the stars and just as I've feared, it rained... luckily not before we've finished our food, :). (but the drizzling stopped when we got home.....)

*Then, just before hubby went to bed, he told me that I'd have to follow him sending Renee to school tomorrow.  Why?  To familiarise myself with the route as he's got golf game on Wednesday!  Irritating.  Initially I told him that I don't want to do it, 'cos I don't intend to drive anytime soon, especially with little Rachel to think about now.  However, since he gave me his word that it'll only be this one time off(I doubt...), I'm ok to oblige, heeee...(so long din drive liao)

End of September School Holidays

Time really flies, and the 1 week school holidays have ended.  Tomorrow will be the start of the next and last term of the year and Renee is sure looking forward to it.

Just before the school holidays began, we were informed that the fees for this last term will be revised to include the additional Hanyu Pinyin programme.  It's explained that the additional fee being the engagement of an out-sourced specialised teacher in this area but given the short time span, the programme will only be basic(this shows that the school really take the parents' feedbacks(ex parents' some more...) seriously, unlike Renee's previous school).  Although Renee has learnt her basics with Berries but we thought it might be good for her to re-enforce her basics at school especially since the programme is said to include some fun activities.

More Work For Mummy...

Renee has become complacent again lately and I noticed teacher Yin was abit more stern in correcting her mistakes/bad habits yesterday(good for her!).

Towards the end of the lesson, teacher Yin suddenly asked for Renee's previous results and then, he beckoned Renee to work harder.  He also didn't allow her current piece to be passed citing the absence of performance quality.  Hearing this, Renee tried to complain but teacher Yin told her that she can't be expecting to pass each piece within a week like before anymore, as the pieces get harder and longer.  It'd be even more so when she embarks on Suzuki volume 4 where the pieces would be much longer to play.  Hearing this, Renee groaned, hahaha.  Teacher Yin then urged us to get the said book ready since she would be needing it in due course and that's what we did today.  Feeling bored at home, we decided to go out and we bought the said book.  I've also got myself a music theory 'explanation' book, in the hope that I'd be able to help Renee understand the theory better - But I doubt I'd have the time to go through the book though, haiz..

MoonCakes

It's been a long time since hubby last met up with this overseas client and so they stayed til he's finished his bottle, to catch up?

Anyway, as long hubby didn't drink as much, it's ok but he came home only at 5am...(he went to Renee's room to sleep with her til 12pm today!)

This is the box of mooncakes the client has given us :

September '11 Holiday Play Date III

I finally got to meet up with mommy Janice(mummy of Renee's ex classmate from Kinderland) today!  She's moved from Chiltern Park to Grandeur 8 and now to Rosalia Park and we only get to meet up today, today's mothers are just soooo busy, hahaha.

Renee has made aunty Janice a card(rushing out, so din get to take a pic of it, :<) and when we arrived at their place, I was told that Jerome has also drawn me something but he didn't finish painting it, and thus I didn't get to have it, heeee.

The 2 kids played indoor games for a while but being of different gender, I guess the home toys don't really appeal to Renee much and so, when the boy told Renee about the playground, they both requested to go there.   Luckily it's already late afternoon and the sun wasn't that strong anymore, so we went there with them(with little Rachel in tow of 'cos :D) but not long later, the boy was distracted by other boys from the neighbourhood and poor Renee was left alone, so she began to feel bored...  However, although she didn't have as much fun as with the girls, she still got her fair share of snacks at aunty Janice's and guess what, she was finally persuaded to try a bottle of Vitagen and she likes it, aiyoh!  Now she's asking me to order from the school for her to take during snack time, :).
Lately, with my hormones adjusting/resuming, my naturally waved hair has become a mess and no matter how badly I needed the cut, I hadn't the 'freedom' to go for one.  So, when Janice told me that the place is actually rather near to the Nex mall, I was elated!  When papa arrived to pick us up, I told him about it and he said ok, hurray!  Aiya, I should have had my haircut before I embarked on all these playdates lah, fancy meeting all my friends in my mop of messy & pong pong hair, hahaha.

And today, not only did I get my haircut, I've also finally got to taste the Wendy's shrimp burger!  The 1st and only time I've eaten this burger was when I was a teenager, when my sis, Elsie brought me to Far East Plaza.  That was the 1st and only Wendy's restaurant  in Singapore then but it was soon closed down before we could enjoy more of their food.  However, as usual, I needed to hurry over my food due to the care of the kid(s), so though I've got the burger I wanted, I couldn't exactly savour it like I did before.....

Baby Dance, Baby Kiss

Baby Dance

There are a couple of my family members whom would know what I'm talking about when I talk about the 'dancing' act.  This is because they have seen Renee doing it when she was still an infant - One day, I danced with Re with her hand resting on mine and the next moment, all I had to do was say "dancing?", she'd automatically put her hand on mine before we begin the act... :)

Trying my luck with Rachel recently, I thought I would surely not receive the same kind of response, given that I'm trying it 'earlier' with her, but I was in for a pleasant surprise - she did it and with a grin each time!  And on the next few tries, I found out that she'd curl and shy away if I do this infront of the mirror, hahaha.

Baby Kiss

Today, before I gave Rachel her bath, I decided to try a new 'trick' - the kissing trick, :).  First, I said to her "mommy kiss..." and planted a kiss on her cheek, then I requested her to do the same but obviously she couldn't, she just kept smiling at my reflection in the mirror, heeee.

Then, with her still looking at the mirror, I did the same thing again and this time round, a little bit slower and she concentrated, then turned slowly, paused at my cheek, I leaned forward slightly and she gave me that wonderful kiss-she stayed still(though her mouth was still open)!  Thinking that it might just be a co-incidental response, I tried it 3 times and she did the same each time when I said "Rachel kiss...", I'm elated! hahahahaha.  However, when we got out of the shower-room, I wanted hubby to witness this wonderful act but she wouldn't do it anymore, she just made noise and turned away from my face when I said "Rachel kiss...", :(.

Still not trusting that she'd really do it, I tried it again this evening and yes, she responded the same way again!  But this time round, she's less enthusiastic about it(only willing to do it twice), maybe she got fedup of me making the same requests sooo many times in a day, kekeke  :)

Another thing, I've just witnessed her putting the pacifier(which she likes to pull out) back into her mouth, heee.

September '11 Holiday PlayDate II

It's been quite a while now since Renee last met up with Emma and I thought it's high time we pay my friend Karen a visit(has never been to their home since we knew each other!).

Despite not being regular playmates, they still played well together and Renee had a good time today at their home, eating, playing and exploring their toys, even their new bunk bed!(now she's open to the idea of us getting her and Rachel a bunk bed in the future, :D) lolz.

Mommies also managed to have a nice little chat although baby Rachel got the in-between attention with her cries(wanna sleep lor...), :)

When we got home, I was informed that Renee had left her favourite charm at their place!  haiz, this girl ar...

This is the card she's made for aunty Karen, with a pop-up fairy, :)
(forgotten to take pic of e one she's made for aunty Sharmaine)

Rachel's 1st Cereal Feed

Rachel finally had her 1st taste of cereal today and she appeared to like it too.

First I fed her whilst she's on her rocker but we later transferred her to the bumper seat my friend has passed to us and it's sooo cute to see her in it, heeee.  Really reminded us of those times when Renee was sitting on one.

Although this cereal feeding has been practiced by many for a long time now, but personally, I'm not entirely sure if it's really that necessary for babies to have it but I thought no harm to give it, just one feed a day, not too much unless she likes it very much... :)

September '11 PlayDate I

It's the start of the September school holidays and knowing how busy my mommy friends are during such periods, I'd quickly text them last week to 'book' them, hahaha.  For today, we've arranged to meet up with Sharmaine, Shuen and her sister Lyn and Renee had woken up early excitedly this morning.  She even showed me the card she's made for aunty Sharmaine, I was surprised...(and she's gg to make another for another of my mommy friend tmrw, and was even more excited abt it just now after hearing aunty Sharmaine's comments, perhaps she felt appreciated, :>).

However, instead of heading to Sharmaine's house straight, we met up at United Square first, which is good, 'cos I needed to buy the Bellamy's organic baby's rice...(we went to the one at paragon on Sat but it's alr OOS...)

We've all arrived at the mall at about the same timing but as Sharmaine wanted to buy some clothes for her kids, I went in search of the cereal.  Then when I got back, I have to nurse Rachel and when I'm done with that, their friends came, alamak, ended up, I didn't get to chat with Sharmaine much 'cos soon it was time for hubby to come pick us up.  Luckily, we were all heading back to Sharmaine's house where I'm to pick up some of their baby stuffs.

Renee has had a good time running around their big yard and was reluctant to leave(we daren't impose on them for too long, plus we needed to get to J8 for dinner)...  Hopefully we'd have another chance to go over to their place again.

*Even Rachel was excited today, she couldn't sleep the whole while and when she finally KO, we were about to leave the mall already and she slpt all the way til we got home, how nice!
*Guess what, Renee's more excited about the baby stuffs and has already aimed at a couple of them, claiming that she'd wanna play wif them 1st hahaha.

Home Made Mooncakes II

Brought back some more today, with different paste and filling(this time round, they looked nicer even, heee) :

And Elsie gave Renee these(home-made by her colleague's mom):

Baby Talk

As we've changed our family gathering day to Sundays, our own family outings are changed to Saturdays instead.  And today, we went to Orchard road despite Renee's request to go to Marina Aquare(aiyoh...) - 'cos I want to get some cereal from the organic shop there.

When Re realised that the shop is located at Paragon, she's very happy, this girl is all about play only!  After she's had her fun time, she readily followed me to the nursing room when we got to Takashimaya, sooo good, hahaha.

Baby Rachel seems to enjoy 'friends' company too! :)  Midway whilst she's feeding, she heard another baby 'talking' and she stopped drinking, looked at me and grinned widely.  Distracted, she slowly began to lose interest in feeding and kept talking.  Another baby at the other side of the room also 'talked' and it's sooo funny 'cos it'd sounded like they were communicating with each other! hahaha.

Another thing -  I've started, a short while ago, to use sign language(just this one - the 'milk' sign) which I still remembered from Renee's time and Rachel seems to remember and recognise!  'Cos when I tried it again today when she fussed, what I did was to make this sign, and her reaction would tell me that she wanted milk(she'd eh eh eh ernestly the min she sees me when she wants milk, and it's the same reaction).  Hopefully this will work for us til she's able to tell us what she wants, :)

Lantern

It seems like we've been going to AMK hub quite often lately(Fri, after Re violin lesson) and today, we went there again, in hope to find the organic cereal for Rachel to start with but we bought a paper LED lantern instead and, only to realise that the holding stick wasn't in the package when we got home, aiya!

As we were settling down at home from the outing, the security guard came knocking and we thought "oh no, don't tell us we can't park 2 cars in the premise?" but instead, he passed us 2 boxes of malay kuehs and 3 green packets!  Hubby had given him 1 red packet in celebration of the Hari Raya festive the other day but he returned 3 to us.  Aiya, like that so paiseh leh, guess we'd better give to his children in return in this case...
