Woke up slightly earlier today as I need to get to Kovan for my 1st driver's refresher lesson at 10:20am. Arrived at the wrong carpark, and by the time I reached the correct one, I was already perspiring like anything - I bet the instructors waiting there must have contributed that to my 'kan cheong-ness' LOLz
It was quite a pleasant lesson, not like what I've anticipated. I had thought that I may fumble but instead, in less than a minute on the road, the instructor said : "why you bother to come for this course, waste of money".
Well, perhaps it was like what he's commented - I'm taking him, the instructor, as the confidence booster hehehe. He kept telling me that it's all in the mind and I should have more confidence in myself and don't bother with what other people/drivers do or say. Also, since we have vehicles at home ready for me to start driving, I should start practicing on the car to get use to the feel of the car soon, else it'll defeat the purpose of this course - yeah, I know but the problem is I don't even know which I'd be driving, haiz.
A pc of not-so-good news though : As I've not driven for 8yrs or more, I was recommended to book 4 sessions(2 being the min compulsory ones for auto cars) and was told that if I should decide to stop after the 2, I could cancel and get a refund. To this, the instructor told me that I've been had and at the rate I'm driving, I certainly don't need the extras and there won't be any refund...Hmmm, is it good news or bad?
He was very nice and kept talking/cracking jokes with me to ease the tension(if any) and he even 'dropped' me off at where I stay(I'd pointed out to him the cluster of flats when we passed by, 'cos he's asked earlier where I reside) and gave me a little coaching on parking at our carpark - which wld normally begin from 2nd or 3rd.
Having an easy going instructor would make any driving experience a pleasant one. Just one example :
since I'm not a 'L' plate driver, he told me to drive on, using my senses(but he'll guide me along on the direction), so when there was a very slow moving road-cleaning vehicle infront of us, I changed lane without him telling me and he went "Oh, like that ar, ok, now u go here, go there, turn here, errm, no, go straight..." At this point, I protested : "hey, why like that, you told me to go along with my senses mah, now that I did, u also tekan me ar" hahaha.
When I got back home, daddy had e-filed individually and as I do not have a singpass, he made me go get one from Bishan branch and told me that he'll send me there after picking Renee up. Good thing we didn't have to que too long there as it was very, very troublesome for me to do so with Renee tagging along in the stroller. Whilst waiting, I gave Renee milk bread and her milk. We hopped into a taxi just after she's finished her milk and we got back home by 3:10pm. Hurray!
Today would be the last day for scrapping off the Alfa A156 and I really hope that the paper work could be submitted on time(so we could go get another car of my preference asap), else we'll have to be stucked with it for a while as it would cost us a loss of few thousand dollars even if we were just 1 day late on the papers.
*Crosing fingers* now...
