It seems like we won't be able to send Renee to school this week(there goes our S$125 sch fees for the wk :D). Her fever came back on/off at night and since it's been 3 days, we decided to bring her to the doc - the western this time, not the chinese, 'cos usually u need western's medication for quick relief and fever's one of such situations.
The GP we usually go to is only on duty from 4pm today so I told daddy that we should go to the Paediatrician(PD) instead. However, the one who used to check on Renee isn't in on thursday, so we consulted her partner instead. As we don't have prior appointment, I was told that we might have to wait for a good 2 hrs. Well, what can we say?.....
Went to have our breakfast at the Mcdonald's and Renee pointed to the showcase of toys and said : "mommy mommy, look, there, my Hello Kitty toy!" Aiyoh, just because she had it, any others she saw is 'hers' hahaha. Perhaps she's just trying to tell me she had the same one? heehee
Since it's gonna be a while, I told daddy to attend to his work and I'll take Renee for a little 'walk' at the NTUC upstairs before we go back to the clinic for our turn. Bought another 'Dora' water tumbler(non straw type, she saw alot of kids using similar ones in sch and she wanted the same). Geez, this is like the 5th one that I've changed for her since she started pre-school! I hope this one would last longer else I'll hv to make her drink from the Thermos'(good, solid one and can keep warm) although she finds it abit heavy, hahaha dun care, fed up of having to keep changing it.
She chose the tumbler herself this time and I had thought that she wld wanna use it when we get back but instead, she told me "this one I use in school" :)
Whilst waiting at the clinic, we heard many babies wailed and I sat there recalling those times when Renee had her jabs there... She was quite 'good' as she had never cried(almost like no reaction hahaha, the PD must be very good in her adminstration of the injections) but she did pout when she was given one(was it the 2nd dose of Hep B's?) which the PD had pre-warned that it will hurt abit more than the others...
The only time she cried(but only a very short while) was when she had her pneumococcal jab which is also another one that would really hurt but she was alot older then and knew how to 'sa jiao' hahaha.
Finally consulted the PD and as what my gf predicted, she prescribed antibiotics cos her fever came back twice at night quite high(39...degrees) and something to help clear up her phlegm. One thing good about going to specialist - she explained with more info on how the medication work when I told her that a GP had told us that western medication doesn't have one that would help 'purge' the phlegm via bowel movements... - it's better to have it cleared as even if the kid knows how to spit it out, there might still be some remnants in the body and it's no good, worse if it accumulates again
But that consulation cost us S$100, and we're not paying the 1st visit fees... really expensive to have kid(s) these days, especially when they're unwell!!!
*Many kids are sick lately
As we were heading home with our 'tapao-ed' lunch, I remembered the KFC's Doraemon toy that I've promised Renee to make her set complete and as this is the week for the '4th' piece, I returned to the mall to get it for her. And yes, she's very happy hahaha.
We were out since 10am and home ard 1:30pm but it's only now that I finally get to sit down and 'rest' my feet. It's funny why I always have alot of chores to do whenever I didn't get to sleep well for a few days???(Have been doing laundry/cleaning/packing everday since Sunday And hv been up from 2:30am to 4am, 5am to 7am almost every nite with Renee's constant requests for water and wanting to come to our bed. Really very tired :<)
After our lunch, Renee told me when I was showering her that, her friends(she had named 2) were sick... Aiya, that might explain it? 'Cos she might already been carrying the virus last wk and the late + air-con night out on Sunday may have triggered it?
Now the thing is, she's been asking to go to school, so if she's well enough tomorrow, should we let her?
