Renee has been unwilling to let me cut her hair nor her fringe short but lately, her baby hair(fringe)is causing her some discomfort if I just tie up half for her. I like her without the hairband most of the times and whenever I looked at the photos of her younger days, I always felt an urge to cut her fringe short again, heee.
Recently, I showed her the pictures and she began to share the same sentiments that it'd be nice to have long fringe when she's spotting short/cropped hair and shorter one for longer hair. She hadn't like this idea earlier and has always loooved her long fringe. Don't get me wrong, I like it too, but for one who adores a change of look from time to time, I think it is perhaps getting to me again, that I'd like to see a fresh image of my darling girl again, heeee. Besides, I've been seeing sooooo many girls with long hair + long fringe now and I'm beginning to feel that this look kinda make her look more 'matured' in a way. Perhaps, I should stick to the 'long hair with short fringe and short/cropped hair with long fringe' theory, hahaha.
However, tempted as I am, I was still half-hearted, afterall, she's had the long fringe for quite a while now. Then, hubby voiced his 'agreeement' briefly that he thinks she'd look cute too, so I quickly text my hairstylist and asked if she's got time to help trim my girl's fringe short. She said she's not going to the salon today but would arrange for a stylist to trim Renee's fringe, Free of Charge, Oh great! :D
After our lunch, I quickly took Renee to the salon and not wanting to take too much of an advantage, I let the stylist decide where Renee should sit - the normal seats or the children's. Although she's asked for my option, she finally decided on the normal seats. Renee, of cos, made some noise, hahaha. And oh, the stylist had thought she's to trim the whole of Renee's hair, hahaha.
It was a nice cut and she told me not to have it cut too short nor too 'straight', else it might end up a 'gu gu' look - which I totally agreed! However, we've been putting her fringe up for sooo long, plus she's had her hairband on when we arrived, so the styling has kinda set and thus, I secretly prepared myself that I'd need to re-trim her fringe when we get back. True to my thoughts, after I've showered and dried her hair, a re-trim was indeed necessary. So stripped to topless again, I put the hair-catching cape on for her and began my work. Hubby came back just on time and said it's nice(he's seen the cut earlier too, when we've left the salon)BUT, our Renee had to fuss about the fringe being 'too long' and poking her eyes, she asked for it to be cut shorter, shorter and...shorter. I tried my best not to go too short but in the end, it ended at about 0.5 cm above her eyebrows and hubby said it's too short, it was nicer when I've left it sitting on her brows, arrrrggggghhhh... I hope it'll grow on time for her 'mission' next week!
Nevertheless, no fear, all her doting aunties... She still looks cute, heeee.
Besides a new fringe cut, she's also finally got the new toothbrush, 1 that emits light for 1 minute - which is a recommended time frame for good teeth brushing. I still brush her teeth for her at night to let her get used to the momentum so when she does it herself in the mornings, it could be a guide too. But, she's always been lazy to brush her own teeth since we've changed to the new young kids' toothpaste and of all the long time she spent at the toilet, most of it were spend on washing the toothbrush, cup and towel up. I've never been able to get her to brush abit longer, esp. when she does it by herself. So, when I chanced upon this toothbrush that could help her gauge the brushing time, I was elated. Today, we finally remembered to get it but when we saw a simpler version that emits just light for a minute, I bought it and took the 1 that emits music which we've got earlier, back to the store for product exchange, :D. We even managed to find a nice pink top(white would look better though) that could go with the new polka dot tutu skirt I've finally re-altered, hurray!
As Renee didn't have a proper lunch, she cried hunger at around 3pm and right after our snack, we were looking at some stuffs at the promo carts area when a woman approached us. Actually, she was facing Renee and asked if she'd like an umbrella. Obviously, Renee didn't quite respond, or I think she shaked her head? and I told her no, but thank you. She kinda persisted and explained that she's redeemed 3 too many umbrellas and not wanting to carry all back and she thought Renee would like to have 1 with these being Sesame Street's. That was so nice of her and so, when she asked again, we accepted and thank her again.
