NPD Fireworks @ SengKang!

Yes, it happened just when the clock hit 12 o' clock! I quickly grabbed my digicamera and took it in 3 parts(why 3? 'cos I duno why my camera will have this 'blurring effect' at times when I'm taking video and I've to switch on/off to get it stabilised, usually works, but just now, not really hahaha) and so this is the best part taken(stil some parts blurry - looks like fire balls hahaha and u can hear Renee speaking too) :

Very tired... just got back from our dinner/gift shopping(mine... hehehe). Renee's still wide awake now though she's already very sleepy(she fell and hurt her lip just by walking at home earlier yet still dun wanna go sleep)hahaha and daddy's watching the Olympics, so here I am, whilst waiting for my 2nd batch of laundry...
After sending Renee to school(the children were already all gathered at the hall), we went(Vicky met me at the school) for an early lunch @ the Cafe Cartel, Hougang mall. Viewed on her camera, the photos of her wedding gowns and the gowns she wore for the photo shoot, hmmm, guess she needed some 'alterations' - will try to help her out on this area if I could since she's requested...
When we went to pick Renee up, Mommy ChooLin told me that they had stayed on(they sent the kids later) and told me that she saw Renee 'saluting' when they sang the 'Guo Qi Guo Qi, Wo Ai Ni'. Aiyoh, I missed it!!! The other mommy commented as to why we weren't informed of this performance and I told them that actually I've got an email from the Principal on this matter but wasn't informed that even the Pre-N students would partake in the 'performance'...- they get them to do it 'class by class' I think, haiz, so sad to have missed my girl on this :(
Dropped Vicky at Compass Point as it's hard to catch a cab outside the school(she's gg to meet her sister & nephews for a ride at the Flyer) and I brought Renee there for her usual Friday cup of corn at Mcdonald's :). We were there til about 5pm when we left for home with our little buys: Precious moments' princesses card - she said : "I want this, mommy already has one"(referring to the ezlink card holder that I've got early this yr), a flower ring, a box of non-toxic colour pencils, whiteboard markers, a crystal handbag-shaped charm for my car key hehehe and some gifts.
*Oh, when we were at the mall's toilet, Renee was singing the 'guo qi' song whilst I washed my hands and I could hear some people 'laughing' softly in the cubicles. Then these people came out and started to tease Renee : "oh, u're sooo cute, you sing so well...aiya, why u so fierce, we heard you singing so nice, thought yr smile would be very nice" hahahaha. Fact is, Renee got into defensive mode 'cos she was 'shocked' when she saw them. She must have thought no one else were in there, so she 'performed' infront of the mirror! hahaha
When we got home, daddy, woken up from his nap by his precious, suggested going to Paragon for dinner so I could also get my present. Hurray! We were lucky to have got into the LV boutique on time and this is my gift:
Almost got persuaded from my original intention(to get a smaller bag, for use when I send/pick Renee w not many stuffs to bring along) and got the bigger version of this bag ('cos it comes with a small cosmetic pouch in exact design, very cute. suggested that Renee could use it but the idea of her losing it doesn't seem appealing for us to spend an extra of S$400+! hahaha)

TGIF!

Yes, and it's also the eve of my birthday! hehehe and I'm meeting my gf, Vicky at Renee's school so we can head off for breakfast or maybe 'birthday brunch' before I go back to pick Renee. :D
It's 'Red and White' dress theme today. Although I can't find an exact match but for the fun of it, she'll still be going in civilian clothes(white and dark maroon) today :).
Renee has, as usual, woken up before 8am this morning and whilst I pretended to be still sleeping on the bed, she went to her playdoh activity on her own... And here's what she came to me shortly after :
Mommy, look, I made an ice-cream!"

Oh, this reminded me of what she drew of me the other day, carrying the bag!

I just told Renee that it's my birthday tomorrow and she said : "I buy cake, KFC u like?", how sweet....

Finally finished handling this week's foodstuffs and thought I should try load up some audios here :

She had been 'singing' this last week - 'xiao meimei shua ya'

A 'pampering'? day... :D

As it's my birthday month, I get to enjoy a one-time 50% on all services(on-the-spot payment, cannot be deducted from the package) and so I decided to try the detox body scrub(that comes with a basic massage) and the eye treatment together with my facial. However, I didn't get to enjoy the last part of my facial - something a hydramist thingy? 'cos I was sooo 'urgent'! I had gone to the toilet before I went to the salon and usually I didn't have to go again til the end of my facial session. However, this time even though I've gone to release myself again after the scrub/massage, the need of nature call was sooo great after my facial - the result of the earlier session! Although it might appear to be a 'pampering' treat, but I felt sooooo tired when I got home? Probably due to our dear girl waking up early this morning!
Had wanted to try out the nail salon so I went to make a booking before heading to Leonard Drake. Good thing I did that instead of trying my luck after my facial session, 'cos I was told that there would be service charge for putting on the rhinestones which I've brought myself - mininum S$3/nail... oh my gosh! I was told earlier that there will be no charge, hmmm...
So, after my treatments, I popped over to the hair salon instead and a quick check with my hairstylist got me down to a Redken double treatment - to smoothen and strengthen my hair. She also did a quick trimming to tidy up the ends... And for this, I would have been charged S$94 if not for the 30% birthday month discount, which I only found out when paying at the cashier(which is still better than e 20% discount that comes with my pkg), *phew*...
Discarded the plan to go walk around myself and decided to head home to cook Renee's dinner, so I packed ours and rushed back(I guess I'm tooo used to 'rushing back' that I automatically just think of it when I'm done. Think must learn to 'relax' heee)...
So, in the end, I did my own mini pedicure at home hahaha('cos I'm thinking, even they charge me at the min fee of S$3 x 10nails = S$30 just for them to put on the rhinestones for me? No way!).
Saw from the parent/teacher book and also receive an email that we're to let the children wear red/white on Friday. Don't think I'd be able to find the exact match, but will try...

Tuesday

Finally couldn't take it any longer and decided to clear up the 'advertisement sticker' which the locksmith had pasted(again) onto our door bell. Actually, I've earlier put up a 'please press once only' sticker on top of the bell button/socket - hopefully to deter the postman or anyone for that matter from pressing the door bell many times. It is very annoying, esp when u're already trying to rush to the door. This time, I put up an additional one "no door sales please"(this is added to cover up any 'space') and pasted these 2 right on the door bell socket hahahahaha... hopefully these locksmiths will have some sense as to not paste their advertisement again - 'cos just the scraping off of these stickers hurts my nails man...
Took my steamer out today and steamed some rice for renee to take after school and glad I did 'cos she asked for more even after she's finished the 1/2 bowl of rice with vege + codfish(even after she's had her packet of fresh milk on the way back-she complained 1 pkt not enough though hahaha).
For dinner, she had rice again and with vege+pork+codfish. However, she said she's still hungry, and so I went to get her a bowl of soup but she said she wanted to eat my beehoon also!(daddy bought ngor hiang beehoon for our dinner) and even commented that she must finish it all(the bal 1/2, it was too big a pk that I could only finished 1/2)! On top of that, she still went to scoop up more soup from my bowl to her already filled up bowl of soup! Geez, I duno if she's really that hungry or greedy for her fav food or there's worm in her tummy! hahaha.
Not sure if the school's teaching more frm 3rd term(as advised earlier) or was it due to us telling Renee to pay attention to the teacher but it seems like she's picking up more things/songs in the school - I sure hear her singing alot more new songs nowadays since the day she's returned to school. Here's one :
Da Tou
(bad pronounciation, got angry after I tried to teach her a few times and though she got it right thereafter, she didn't sing it right hahaha)
Going for my facial tomorrow and I've requested daddy to go pick Renee from school. Crossing my fingers and hope that daddy will not get any last min agenda 'cos I thought to try out the back body scrub as well and perhaps, if time permits(daddy's expecting me back with dinner so that means I should have ample time), I might try out that salon for my pedicure heee.

A rainy and sunny Monday

It was just about to rain when we left for school but poured heavily when we were almost there. I was still 'fearing' when I saw the grey clouds and then I told myself, why should I be afraid since I'm not taking the trains hahaha, silly me...
When Zhou laoshi received her to the class, she asked if Renee's caught in the rain and quickly 'touched' her to check if she's wet... It's very comforting to see/have a teacher taking concern to a student's welfare.
Decided to try a new 'meal routine' today and so I hurriedly rushed home to cook her porridge after getting the groceries, not as much though, just 3/4 bowl. However, school served macaroni today and with 3 bowls of it(according to her, she asked for 'more' twice) plus the packet of fresh milk & a slice of milk bread on the way home...she could only eat 5 spoonfuls of the porridge and I've to finish up the rest :( hahaha, but at least she's had some codfish and vege :).
Then I told her that I'll not be giving her the milk bread on our way back from school anymore as she'll be taking her porridge when home and she said ok - Not sure if she really meant it, I'll just have to see if she still demands for her milk bread tomorrow hahaha. Still gotta monitor which is better...
Finally arranged to meet up with Vicky this Friday - better as I wouldn't have to rush that day! :)
Update - Reward chart programme
It seems like this does not work very well with Renee, a typical Singaporean or a typical kid who needs to see instant results hahaha. The novelty of collecting the stars in exchange of something/food of her choice seems to be wearing off(and she doesn't seem to mind very much not getting to eat them or not going 'gai gai' for that matter)... I think I'll need to come up with something that would work better with her.

The Weekend...

Saturday

Renee is finally going to her grandma's today and she sure has been waiting for it! Daddy has gone out in the later morning and she 'instructed' him to come back early as 'we're going to ah mah's house' hahaha.

As I was getting ready, I told her to choose between the 2 sets of clothing that I've picked for her but instead, she chose another piece - a dress. Then, she said she wanna wear the ribbon hairband with the pink flower shoes, to match the outfit! She even went to her drawer and searched out the pink colour ankle socks(I've put it right underneath as it's getting too small for her) and put them on all by herself. She was all fully geared up before her daddy was even back home hahaha and she called out loud to me from the hall to let me know that she's already put on her shoes. I told her to remove her shoes so that she can still be mobile in the house. She obeyed but came to the room and told me:
Renee : "mommy, I cannot wait for you"
Mommy : "your papa's still not back"
Renee : "I want mommy drive"(meaning, we go ahead, don't wait up for daddy, hahaha)
Mommy : "but papa took mommy's car"
Renee : "then you drive papa's car" and with a grin she added : "then papa come back, 'har, where's my car'" and laughed
hahahahaha
Sunday

One good thing about having the cleaner over on the early morning of a weekend is that it leaves us more time thereafter... However, daddy only came back after 4pm(he goes there for his golf game every Sunday morning now) and so we didn't have much time in town.

Noticed Renee's been placing her quilt on top of her mattress before she lies on it and since we're no longer using the portable mattress(as she's not taking much naps nowadays), I placed it on top of her mattress when I was changing her beddings this morning. It looked and felt very comfy and Renee was very happy and said : "can i lie on my bed now?". I shook my head and she added : "after 'pong pong'?"('cos I forbid her to get onto her bed after I've changed the sheets/covers if she's not had her shower for the day) hahahahaha

I've thought of going for the 3D brow ressurection by Browhaus(S$960.00 +GST - after GSS promo discount at 20% + 20% off, UP : S$1,500) but it was already too late by the time we had our dinner, as daddy wanted to get another golf club and some shirts from Isetan(but got none in the end). I still went over to the salon to re-confirm its charges and was told that the promo rate no longer applies and there's only 20% discount now But...it'll be S$1,900(excl. GST) for two persons...*hint hint*, Elsie, hehehe.

Supposed to meet Vicky on Monday evening for my birthday dinner(in advance) but we didn't manage to 'catch each other' to finalise the timing/place. She text me just now but I was busy attending to Renee and by the time I phoned her, she was already sleeping... She'd suggested dinner as she wld be finishing her work at 6:30pm, but with daddy so busy with his client's workers matter, it seems like I'd have to bring Renee along. So, unless Vicky is keen on hving a short meet up at a nearby restaurant, a postponement would be likely. Shall wait for her call/phone her later to see what's it gonna be...

It's Friday again!

I woke up with abit of cramp this morning :( and so I requested daddy to bring Renee to school...
Whilst hving my quick lunch, Eileen phoned me and I told her that I'll be bringing Renee to medical hall and if she'd like to come along. Since she's got some prescription to purchase, so we went together.
This is the first time Eileen has gone into the school compound and when it's near class release time, she suggested we teased Renee by telling her that she's there to pick her up 'cos mommy has to go work work... I hid by the side whilst Eileen went into action. Then, I saw Renee pouting and when she was about to burst into tears, I appeared! She sure wasn't happy and got 'angry' with her aunty PC thereafter hahaha.
No 'missed' route to the physician's but my parallel parking was abit challenged today. Sooo unlike last week, when I went there without daddy for the first time, I had done the parallel parking in a breeze, zoop zoop, done! Perhaps it was due to the pressure of my sis in the car that I took quite a while to do my parking hahaha. It was after a few tries, when my sis got out 'to assist me' that I finally realised, aiya I should have driven the car abit more 'out of the lot' and try again, instead of trying to manoeuvre in and out of the tiny space and voila, there it is! hahaha.
We went over to Compass Point after dropping Eileen off at her block but we didn't stay there for long either as we were both very tired. After our snacks at McDonald's, we went to get some stuffs, vege and some ribs/food home. During dinner, Renee had her very first 'star card' exchange for her honey-baked chicken wings! I'm not sure if she's really captured the idea of this programe, let's hope so but if not, then I'll just have to wait till a couple more card exchanges to see if this works for her...
I found the Scholastic book clubs order form in Renee's bag today. Yes, Finally!!! I've been waiting sooo long for it! However, the brochure given wasn't in as many pages as those we had via GUG (maybe it's cos Kinderland has distributed them by age group). Nevertheless, a couple of the book titles had already caught my eye :D. There're even books authored by Hollywood celebrities, Whoopi Goldberg -Big book of manners(this is one of which that I'd be getting) and Will Smith!!!

Supermom
I remembered I've told daddy before that I find one of our neighbours quite a 'wondermom' as she has to juggle between 1 big girl and 2 kids, without any maid nor any help from her family(we've never seen anyone/siblings coming to their home) and she's just given birth to her 4th kid 2 mths ago, woah! And just as I'm admiring her 'power', Renee's classmates, Rohan's mommy told me that she's been late bringing Rohan and his elder sister to school nowadays, 'cos she wanted to feed both of them first before school 'cos the portion of meals provided in school are small(unless your kid kept asking for more servings) and are usually without vegetables. Geez, I felt guilty upon hearing this, that I've just readily allowed my girl to have her meagre meal in school. Although I'd supplement it later with milk bread and milk, there's still nothing that beats a proper home-cooked meal, especially for growing children! And there I'm complaining about Renee losing weight when she goes to school... Hmmm, now I'd have to think of something and see if I could make any changes in this area..
