Renee told me this earlier, when I was getting her ready for school. Then as daddy urged her to put on her shoes, she said she want mommy to bring her there. I told her I'm still not very well and she reminded me : "but 'dark dark' u said u ok?" and began to cry again - referring to last night when I told her that I'll fetch her home today. She was still crying when she followed her daddy out of the door and we have to keep assuring her that I'll be picking her up, poor thing...
It's no wonder why she clung to me when we got to school yesterday, haiz but I can't understand why since she still sees me everyday at home, ???
I hope my picking her up later will erase her uneasiness - she's been crying in her sleep the past 3 aftrn naps...

Mommy's got bronchitis II
For those whom were concerned, Im finally better :) Thanks...
After my last post on Tuesday, I went to take a nap on the sofa whilst waiting for our dearest daughter to be home but the minute they got back, I woke up trembling... Nevertheless, I attended to her needs. Afterall, the minute she saw me at home, she kept on calling me excitedly like she's not seen me for a long time and she even asked : "mommy, what happened to you? Are you ok?" That alone, could make any sick mommy feel 'strong' enough :)
A short while after her nap the same day, I took the rest of the medication and when its effect took place, I took a short nap too. However, despite my alarm setting, I simply couldn't bring myself to open my eyes and finally ard 5:45pm, she insisted and I dragged myself up to cook her porridge. I had thought perhaps I'm already on the road to recovery but I was sooo wrong!
I was wondering if I shld wait for daddy's return to shower her but he'd mentioned that he'll be late so I decided to take the risk and shower her. After her shower, I had a feeling that perhaps I should take one myself but I thought I could wait till daddy's home so in case anything Renee needs, he'd be around to assist.
That was a mistake! At ard 7:15pm, I began to feel uneasy and shortwhile later, I began to shiver. The trembling was like the time when I had blocked milk ducts and it was terrible! I told Renee that I needed to go in to lie down but she said no, so I tried to stay with her but minutes later, I couldn't take it anymore and told her I really needed to lie down and I went in.
A short while later, she came to join me. Fearing that I might pass the germs to her, I quickly told her to go out and watch the TV programme but she told me that she's switched off the TV already. I have no strength to insist so I told her to stay as far from me as possible. However, the more I try to stay away from her, the more she wanted to get close to me... Each time she tried to lie down on my arms or near my chest, I'll have to muster all my strength to push her further away. She looked confused whenever I did that, so I had to gather whatever strength there is left in me to keep explaining to her each time that I'm really very sick and I'm doing that so she won't be ill. Finally she took it and lie down on daddy's pillow, back facing me...
At ard 8pm, she started crying and asked why daddy's not home yet... :( I suddenly remembered the Dora live show I've recorded on my mobile and put it on for her to watch to distract her unease.
However, my hp batt went low and we both 'tong' till 8:30pm when I asked her to pass me the hp and I text daddy : 'can you please come home now'. He called back immediately and said that he's already on his way back and asked what happened. I just told him that I was feeling lousy and his girl's fussing abit. He said that he'll be back after he's got his dinner.
He came home w/out his dinner though... Poor thing and straight away, Renee asked for milk! She had been asking me for her milk since I went to lie down and she had only just had her dinner not too long ago!
Daddy made her the milk and went on to make me the milo that I've requested. Then he make himself some butter + kaya bread to eat. He even helped to boil water and wash up Renee's bottle. Hmm, I shld hv left her laundry for him to do :)
On Wednesday, I still wasn't feeling any much better. I woke up feeling nausea and was still trembling. So daddy offered to pick Renee up from school again. This time, daddy told me when they were home that, Renee cried for me when she saw him :D
This time, I managed to ask daddy before he left if he'd be late again and his reply was "yes, very late". I daren't protest though I was afraid that the same episode might surface again so that evening, after I've cooked her dinner, I decided to take my shower right after Renee's had hers. However, when daddy finally replied to my earlier sms to him asking how late he'd be, it was "Not going, on the way back" haiz. Phew, I felt relieved...
I still didn't feel well in the evening and I began to wonder if it's due to any of the medications. Suggested to daddy that perhaps I should give the clinic a call to find out and I'm glad I did, 'cos it was, indeed! It's the 'salbutamol' - one that's prescribed to clear phlegm and its side effects would be trembling and nausea and I'm told to stop taking it and come back for the doctor to see me if the effects are still showing after I've stopped.
Daddy then reminded me that I'd have to send Renee to school the next day as he'd have to go 'clean up' his late mother's and perhaps his late uncle's tombs(Qing Ming Festival). Due to the sickness, I've totally forgotten abt it and being reminded, I began to wonder if I'd be up to it - told him that Renee will stay home if I can't and he agreed.
Yesterday, I did feel a little better(and the bitter metalic taste had also gone down alot) and I was thinking perhaps I could even fetch Renee home and daddy wldn't hv to rush here n there. Renee was very happy when she learnt that I'm bringing her to school and whilst we're in the LRT train, she kept telling me excitedly to look at objects that past by and even said "mommy, it's nice to take train". hahaha For all we know she'll b complaining about being tired in no time :)
Then in the MRT train, she told me she's tired and wanted to lie down - there! I guess it was due to her overwhelming excitement :) She went to lie on my lap and closed her eyes. Of cos, she didn't really fall asleep and seconds later, she opened her eyes and sit up :D
When we arrived at the school, there were already some kids queing for their temp to be taken/hands to be checked but Mrs Jacob was nowhere in sight. Seeing Mrs Magdalene Teo, the Principal(whom she wasn't familiar with), she suddenly clung on to me and refused for her temp to be taken. So Mrs Teo told me to wait with her there for a while. Thank goodness, Mrs Jacob appeared on time and took Renee's hand and told her that she'll take her temperature in the class :)
I felt a little breathless as I was walking towards the train station and it got worser when I was nearer to home. Luckily I'm near home already and the minute I got home, I quickly took my shower and tried to rest. Then I remembered and quickly text daddy a couple of times to make sure that he's really finishing soon and once he confirmed that he will be picking Renee up, then I tried to rest. BUT, just as I was about to doze off, daddy came back and I couldn't sleep anymore. So, I decided to rest and watch the SCV prog whilst waiting for Renee to be home.
The minute daddy brought her home, I teased her "oh did you cry today?" and she nodded. Daddy, smiling widely behind her then told me that when he went to fetch her, he saw her standing at the classroom door looking around for me but when she caught sight of him waving at her, she cried and frm her mouth movement he can see that she was crying "Where's my mommy?" hahaha.
Oh gosh, she's just one tender little girl that needs my constant hugs and kisses :D

Mommy's got bronchitis...
Just as I thought that I am recovering, I have to wake up this morning with a high fever of 39degrees. Told daddy that I needed to go to the doc's, so he sent me to the clinic before sending Renee to school.
Funny thing is that I have not felt cold at all the past couple of days since I've got the fever and in fact, had been perspiring on/off but I started to feel the chill when I was waiting at the clinic.
Finally my turn and the doc diagnosed me as hving bronchitis - it sounded serious to me 'cos I've never got this before, but the doc assured me that it's not. I had thought that bronchitis was due to prolonged coughing? To that, he said it would then be chronic bronchitis.
Before his diagnosis, I've told him that my girl has got the same symptoms last week and I had thought it was viral fever and I asked if she could have got it, he said "ya, could have". Then I recalled our visit to the PD, oh ya, she had also said that if it was later, she might hv caught bronchitis... Phew, good thing we've brought her down on time 'cos kids are 'weaker' so might not be a good idea for her to get it?
Was told to lay off any cold stuffs, in fact, anything from the fridge, no air-con, oranges and even Vit C. And as I was collecting my medicines, I asked the lady if bronchitis is contagious which she replied "no" but it's best to avoid direct contact if there're young children at home since their immunity system's not as strong. Geez, how contradicting, not contagious yet cannot go near. Haiz, I guess it's best to take the advice on the latter right, but then again, how to? Being the main caregiver with no help(don't have to talk about daddy, 'cos he'll say "what? then I don't have to work? who's going to make money to feed the family then? If I could, I'd rather stay home to look after her, it's so much easier than what I have to do..." Ya, to that, I really wish that I could just take off and go away for at least a week so that he can see for himself how it is really like, even if u're talking about a 3 yr old and we're not just talking abt the child's needs... :(
However, back to reality, what he said is true but then again, I don't think it's an un-called for request for a little break when u're ill, is it? Besides, a doctor insisting on giving you a MC meant strongly that you needed the rest right? It's really sore when u're ill and have to carry on with the chores whilst fearing all the time if you would pass the virus over to the kid, haiz...
I've not wanted to take the medications when I got home for fear of the 'added' gogginess as some of them would cause drowsiness but as I'm waiting for the time to come for me to go pick Renee up, I finally couldn't stand the discomfort and decided to perhaps just take the paracetamol, antibiotics and the one for phlegm - but they all needed to be taken after food, so I went to swallow a pc of bread....
I was about to give up on daddy's 'automation' when I saw him sitting in the studyroom, so I asked why he's still there. To that, he said "u're not feeling well right, think I go pick Renee up, do you want to eat anything?".
Arrrghhh, I guess I shouldn't complain but aiyoh, why couldn't he tell me earlier so that I can go have a proper rest and can charge up abit to take care of Renee's needs when she's back from school!!! MEN!
Now I have to sit here and blog whilst waiting for the barley water to be ready for Renee to take with her milk when she got home.
But nevertheless, thank goodness for that gesture - 'cos it's raining and me catching pneumonia is one thing but I don't want to risk Renee being sick again when she's just recovered!

Back to school II
Saw big notices and enlarged newspaper cut-out on HMFD pasted on the school's doors + notes requesting parents to stay outside of the school whilst waiting for the children to be released from their classes. Whilst waiting, one father went in to 'advance pick-up' his child(as usual, he does that everyday, wonder what's e hurry hehe) and the principal saw and tried to talk to him but I'm not sure if she managed to catch him on time.
The parents' notice boards were also placed outside so that we can still go through any programmes info.
Something caught my eye! - A school trip to Japan from 22 May to 29 May! but haiz, don't think daddy will wanna go... and for that price, perhaps better to go on our own?(kids-S$2,100+ and adults-S$2,500+) hehe... yeah, dunno when will daddy have the time, I shall just dream on :)
As always, Renee smiled and waved ever sooo sweetly when she saw me and as usual, she asked to go 'gai gai', aiyoh! Told her we're heading straight home and she started to fuss. I then explained to her that I'm not feeling and if I shld fall badly ill, there will be no one to care for her and she stopped.
When reaching home, walking through the 'garden', I was telling her that I'm trying to regain my health so that I can hug and kiss her when thought a came to me and I asked her if she knew why I liked to do that. She nodded and I was wondering if she actually knew... and here goes our conversation(as I'm trying to keep her from dozing off in the stroller hee):
Mommy : "nene, you have to be a good girl so mommy can rest well and be ok soon alright?"
Renee : "ok"
Mommy : "when mommy is ok already, then I can hug and kiss kiss you"
Renee : "yes"
Mommy : 'do you know why mommy like to hug and kiss you?'
Renee : *nodding her head*
Mommy : "oh, tell mommy why"
Renee : "because mommy loves renee"
Awww....
And we think that she's still such a young kid :)
Oh, earlier this morning, when I was changing her into the uniform, she said : "mommy, I ok already?"(still dun wanna say 'I'm or I am')
Mommy : "yes, you are and please stay that way"
Renee : "huh, I ok?"
hahaha
Mommy : "yes and oh, let's pray to Buddha and thank him and asked him to keep you healthy ok?"
Renee : *putting her hands together, facing the window* Thank you Buddha, and please help me...and my friends"
Awww, so nice....
Mommy : "ok, you ask Buddha to help you, your friends and your family ok?"
Renee : "Ok" and started to repeat what I told her to :)

Back to school!
Yes, it's school day again and Renee's sooo happy about it that she kept her toys obediently and happily the minute I told her to! Usually she'll wanna drag for a little while before keeping her stuffs but today, she didn't need a 2nd telling :)
I'm still not very energetic and infact, a little goggy now, so hope I'll be 'strong' enough later to pick Renee up(not that I have a choice not to hee). Am thinking if I should go out earlier to get a book from the library and return the old one. Must cut off the 'sleeping late' habit liao...'cos even after an early night and enough sleep yesterday, I'm still not well enough... :(
Oh yes! These are the stuffs I've ordered and thanks to organiser of the spree, she sent it out for me to receive them on time last saturday(it was bulky so the postman will bring it up, thus I'll have to be home to receive it):
Yesterday - Sunday:
I had thought to stay home yesterday but the little diamond dropped off daddy's wedding band and we thought to go get a pair as we were told that these 2 days r good days for selection(even though it's not like it's our wedding :D). However, we couldn't find any that we like from the shop that we've got my solitaire but at least my gf finally found her diamond and setting design so at least our trip's not wasted.
And yes, we hvn't gone down to look at the water filters hehehe

I came back home feeling really lethargic, so daddy cleaned Renee up. I wanted to post up some pics but didn't feel up to it and I decided to rest on the sofa after drinking the herbal tea. Dozed off for abt 1/2 hour and woke up when daddy went to hang up the laundry(yeah, each time he gets up from bed, he'll also wake me up, this is how 'chor lor' he is hahaha).

The foam alphabets are abit too small for me to 'decorate' her bed but I can still use them for her stuffs. Guess I'll hv to join the spree again to get the bigger ones, haiz, another wait...

Exhausted, overworked...
Yes, sad to say, a mommy(most I would say, especially those who like their home clean & tidy) can or perhaps is almost always overworked...
Supposed to go out with daddy to do something today, so we didn't go down to my mom's. However, it ended that we didn't have to go afterall, so I decided to go to AMK hub to get the 2 tiered laundry basket and also my sis' friend's place to take a look at the water filtration system. However, after our dinner, daddy said we have to 'take and go' the basket at NTUC as he wanted to catch his soccer at 7:45pm. Irritating...
So, I have to re-arrange appointment with the distributor - good thing I told her I'll let her know again if we're going down.
When we got home, I quickly cleaned Renee up after I've cleaned/fixed up the basket, then I began my frantic washing and disinfecting the 'old' one as I thought it might be good to use as Renee's toy box as the current one she had are always full to the rim despite that I kept throwing away some occasionally!
I was surprised that as I was washing, I did not perspire at all. How come? Then when I got down to tackle the smaller laundry bins, I suddenly felt giddy and broke out in cold sweat. Still, I have to quickly make milk for Renee and took my shower. Still feeling lousy with a temperature of 39degrees, I went to make myself a cup of hot herbal tea(indicated as to be 'fever, cough, bodyache, giddiness, etc etc etc) and sat down to blog this post whilst waiting for my laundry... Yes, endless work despite being so sick :(
How I wish I'm the 'man' who's sitting comfortably infront of the TV the minute we got home.....

Though the basket is not as small as shown in the pic below, it certainly makes my common toilet more spacious and, since I do my laundry so often, I guess I don't need a really big one anyway.
This pic is for those whom are also keen in getting the basket:
(I didn't know it cost S$32.90! but it's a Japan product, so...)
And, here's how Renee's new toy box is, lolz(I've kept e cover though, so it can fit into the space under e book shelf :

A whole week of non-attendance at school!
We've overslept today!
Renee woke me and daddy up at close to 10:30am this morning(he went out super early to do his work, came back ard 8am and went to bed again hahaha) and boy, don't we have a super cheery Renee today! :> Finally, our dear precious is 'back' hahaha. However, we still did not send her to school...
It was the first time since Monday night that I get to sleep through the night, even Renee too :) No wonder we both(me and renee)woke up so late lolz
Vicky, my gf came to our place but due to some last minute thingy, she could only stay for a short while to go through her wedding stuffs with me instead. I had thought to go to dinner with her but on the other hand, I'm also fine with being at home as Renee could do with the extra rest. We will be out afterall, over the weekend.
Vicky has just left and I suddenly remembered that we have to send in our bid for 'my' car! Geez, good thing we didn't go out hahaha. I've just finally got the fax and email through, so now it's waiting to see if we got the bid :) *cross fingers*

A busy but another no-school day
It seems like we won't be able to send Renee to school this week(there goes our S$125 sch fees for the wk :D). Her fever came back on/off at night and since it's been 3 days, we decided to bring her to the doc - the western this time, not the chinese, 'cos usually u need western's medication for quick relief and fever's one of such situations.
The GP we usually go to is only on duty from 4pm today so I told daddy that we should go to the Paediatrician(PD) instead. However, the one who used to check on Renee isn't in on thursday, so we consulted her partner instead. As we don't have prior appointment, I was told that we might have to wait for a good 2 hrs. Well, what can we say?.....
Went to have our breakfast at the Mcdonald's and Renee pointed to the showcase of toys and said : "mommy mommy, look, there, my Hello Kitty toy!" Aiyoh, just because she had it, any others she saw is 'hers' hahaha. Perhaps she's just trying to tell me she had the same one? heehee
Since it's gonna be a while, I told daddy to attend to his work and I'll take Renee for a little 'walk' at the NTUC upstairs before we go back to the clinic for our turn. Bought another 'Dora' water tumbler(non straw type, she saw alot of kids using similar ones in sch and she wanted the same). Geez, this is like the 5th one that I've changed for her since she started pre-school! I hope this one would last longer else I'll hv to make her drink from the Thermos'(good, solid one and can keep warm) although she finds it abit heavy, hahaha dun care, fed up of having to keep changing it.
She chose the tumbler herself this time and I had thought that she wld wanna use it when we get back but instead, she told me "this one I use in school" :)
Whilst waiting at the clinic, we heard many babies wailed and I sat there recalling those times when Renee had her jabs there... She was quite 'good' as she had never cried(almost like no reaction hahaha, the PD must be very good in her adminstration of the injections) but she did pout when she was given one(was it the 2nd dose of Hep B's?) which the PD had pre-warned that it will hurt abit more than the others...
The only time she cried(but only a very short while) was when she had her pneumococcal jab which is also another one that would really hurt but she was alot older then and knew how to 'sa jiao' hahaha.
Finally consulted the PD and as what my gf predicted, she prescribed antibiotics cos her fever came back twice at night quite high(39...degrees) and something to help clear up her phlegm. One thing good about going to specialist - she explained with more info on how the medication work when I told her that a GP had told us that western medication doesn't have one that would help 'purge' the phlegm via bowel movements... - it's better to have it cleared as even if the kid knows how to spit it out, there might still be some remnants in the body and it's no good, worse if it accumulates again
But that consulation cost us S$100, and we're not paying the 1st visit fees... really expensive to have kid(s) these days, especially when they're unwell!!!
*Many kids are sick lately
As we were heading home with our 'tapao-ed' lunch, I remembered the KFC's Doraemon toy that I've promised Renee to make her set complete and as this is the week for the '4th' piece, I returned to the mall to get it for her. And yes, she's very happy hahaha.
We were out since 10am and home ard 1:30pm but it's only now that I finally get to sit down and 'rest' my feet. It's funny why I always have alot of chores to do whenever I didn't get to sleep well for a few days???(Have been doing laundry/cleaning/packing everday since Sunday And hv been up from 2:30am to 4am, 5am to 7am almost every nite with Renee's constant requests for water and wanting to come to our bed. Really very tired :<)
After our lunch, Renee told me when I was showering her that, her friends(she had named 2) were sick... Aiya, that might explain it? 'Cos she might already been carrying the virus last wk and the late + air-con night out on Sunday may have triggered it?
Now the thing is, she's been asking to go to school, so if she's well enough tomorrow, should we let her?

Another no-school day
Renee's fever came back last night and though it was gone this morning, I told daddy to just let her rest another day at home, despite her wanting to go to school. I just hope her fever will NOT return tonight...
I can't believe how active(but grouchy in the middle of the night) she can still be even when she's not well... arrrghhh and I'm now sooo tired :(
Imagine she's now dancing away to the music whilst I'm typing this post up here...
Daddy is now still out with his clients and as he's told me earlier that he'll be late tonight, so I've ordered pizza for my dinner hehehe(of cos saving some for him :D).
