As usual, daddy had forgotten to consult me on his golf game and so, I had to drag Renee out from her wonderful dreamland and got her onto the car before she even had her milk(gave her milk bread with cheese). She must be really 'small' that Eileen didn't even realise that she was in the car til I turned to chide Renee for not greeting her aunt, hahaha.
Tried to get her to sleep after her milk whilst I was handling foodstuffs but she just wouldn't. Finally, after I've had my breakfast, I told her that I'd be joining her soon that she fell asleep on our bed :). I too, took a short nap beside her...
With the late morning nap, she had a late lunch and luckily it was quite an easy route to the teacher's(daddy had also drawn me a map), so we managed to arrive there on-time. It was raining pretty heavily and that got Renee to ask for a child-sized umbrella, yes, again. On our way there, Renee even reminded me that we've forgotten to bring the music scores stand(which of cos isn't necessary) and she even remembered the 'wrong turn' daddy had took on our first visit to the teacher's for the interview! - she actually pointed it out when we were waiting for the traffic light to turn and she said "mommy, wrong side, it's here" and I've to explain to her that daddy had made the 'wrong turn' the other day :).
Ms Allysa Mok, being on her usual casual self, was pretty firm/strict whilst friendly at the same time with Renee. The latter, on the other hand, was alittle impatient, especially after the few times Ms Mok corrected her postures - standing position, holding the violin and bow, it's no wonder why so many people commented that it's alot harder to learn to play the violin. When I tried to hold the violin myself, it was still ok for me 'cos it's much smaller for me but the finger position on the bow proved to be abit tedious even for me, so let alone to a young child.
Midway through the lesson, tiredness built up from the tension of the postures and also the lack of 'being able to play' skills, caused her some frustrations(which she showed quitely but still smiled cheekily when the teacher teased her) but after giving in to her 'milk bread requests', she was happy again.
A workbook was given by Ms Mok, for her future homework use, but in the meantime, I'm to coach her on both practical (the 3 main postures and bowing the A & E string) and theory practices.
Just now, whilst she's watching her favourite cartoon show which she'd normally not allow us to deter her from, despite it being a repeated episode but she willingly gave up watching when I took out her violin. I began on 'mommy's turn' first and when I pretended to have forgotten about my fingers position on the bow, she coached me. She even reminded me that I've placed my last finger wrongly, which was true and to be honest, I have actually missed that part! Geez, I had thought that she'd have forgotten most parts of the lesson as she didn't seem to be paying much attention. I hope her observation would persevere in all the coming violin lessons...
Shown daddy the videos(I've managed to capture whilst learning the lesson myself) and it brought a smile on his face :)
