Father's day

Sunday

Daddy's sister called him on the mobile when we were in Batam island and told us to go over for a 'Father's day' celebration/gathering today. The cleaner came earlier at 10am and I was happily planning to go get a small cake for daddy but he drove 'my' car to JB for his golf game...so, too bad, no surprise for him hahaha.

Today, instead of being the first, we were the last family to arrive and steamboat dinner has already started. As daddy was on the phone with a client, I told them that I'd wait for him and meanwhile, I went to play with the baby - sooo cute, at only 3 mths old, he can hold his head up very steadily and laugh when u teased him :) Then, he regurgitated milk and I took over carrying him so the mommy can go get herself cleaned up, just then daddy came in and asked me to go eat but when I couldn't, he didn't wait for me like I did for him earlier :(.

No pictures were taken this time but Renee had fun with all her cousins again :D. Xuan Le insisted that she's the jie jie and Renee's the mei mei and it's indeed hard to look at it otherwise as the LeLe has grown much taller again, in less than 2 months' time. In fact, we were told later that this girl only wanna be the jie jie, she even insisted so, to the neighbours' children who are much older than her hahaha. At one point, Renee didn't want to lose out and while passing some grapes to LeLe, she kinda emphasised : "Xuan Le Mei Mei, for you" hahaha.

And today, again, she didn't want to go home when it was time to and asked her younger cousin Xuan Le to come over to her place(just like she did to her aunts Elsie & Li on Sat nite hahaha) and we had to soothe her by telling her that we'll invite them all to our place the next time :)

Actually, it is really nice to see her playing well with her cousins... at least she would look forward to those gatherings as well :)

Batam Golf Trip

Yes, we're back :D

Friday
Though I woke up at 5:45am, we only get to set off at about 7am('cos I've awaken daddy up a little too late, thus the delay). Renee woke up when daddy was washing up and she was all bright and sunny, guess she must have remembered about the trip :).

We arrived at the ferry terminal on time and many families can be spotted - must be taking a break to celebrate 'Father's Day' I suppose(for us, it's 'double celebration' - our wedding anniversary & Father's Day, though nothing was done to indicate either hahaha).

The boat we boarded didn't look good on the inside and it was already full. We finally managed to find seat for me(as I'm carrying Renee) but it didn't move off til much later and it was whilst waiting on the 'wobbly' boat that I suddenly remembered : {oh no, what if Renee gets motion sickness?} and I told daddy that I should have packed a plastic bag to standby. Trying to distract her, I told her to go to sleep and though she fretted, she soon fell asleep on my lap.

We arrived at Batam terminal around 5-10mins before 8am, local time. Daddy and gang headed straight off to Palm Springs Golf Club while we both were ferried by the hotel's bus for our rest - thank goodness, we both sure needed it! We played a little in the hotel room and Renee asked for her slice of milk bread, of which reminded me that we should take a nap first. When we woke, I placed a room-service order of their Nasi Goreng Istimewa and Renee had her porridge whilst waiting for mine. After our lunch, I decide to bring Renee down for a swim but I realised that I've forgotten to pack my swimming costume and not even an extra Tee & Shorts, so we just make-do for a swim in our private 'pool' - the Bath Tub!(even better, with warm water and lotsa bubbles!) hahaha. Just before we went into the tub, Renee told me this : "oh, I forgot to bring my teddy. I cannot take care already" hahahahaha.

After our little 'swim', I was contemplating if I should get a room-service spa massage when daddy came back, a while later - you can tell from here, how long I was considering the massage rite, haha! No choice, as not sure of their programmes at all and couldn't tell when we'd need to meet up with the rest. Anyway, dun think there's much time left for it either, a pity though 'cos the services are cheaper than what we would have to pay for, here.

Daddy had a little rest before we took Renee down to the beach for a walk before meeting the rest up for dinner. Renee had a wonderful time picking sea shells and wasn't afraid of the waves/tides closing in on her! She was just a little afraid when daddy first warned her of the first wave but after that, she simply can't be bothered hahaha. We also took her to the in-house playground for a little exploration before heading for our dinner.

The dinner buffet spread wasn't very big but it has its variety, good enough for me :D. Took quite a few chicken wings but surprisingly, our dear precious didn't want any, she had not wanted even the one that came with my lunch earlier on. Hmmmmm... but she took the rice and some other stuffs, including the crackers(though we limited it to only a couple of pcs and made her drink more water 'cos her lips were cracking already) and quite alot of butter(yes, her favourite, especially on its own!) with and without her milk bread.

TV - There are now quite a number of channels available on their TV selection and as they're able to receive Singapore's TV signal, I get to watch my favourite - "Supernatural"! However, the difference was that the time was still 'early' when the show ended when it's usually considered late by the time the show finishes when watched back home :).
Renee didn't fall asleep as early as I've expected and I wasn't sure if it was due to the morning nap or excitement but I later realised that it was due to the absence of her bolster!!! She turned to my side, trying to hug and 'press' on me, flipped and pressed on daddy's pillows and flipped back. In the end, I told daddy to give up 1 of the pillows(he took 3!) for her to hug/press and in less than 1 min, Renee's soundly asleep hahaha. I carried on with my TV till I knocked out at close to 1am, local time.

In the middle of the night, Renee suddenly 'coughed' and looked like she was going to 'vomit' but I saw no 'action', so I patted her to sleep when she began another bout of the same and daddy said she really did 'vomit' - it was more like milk regurgitation(maybe she ate too much? or too much butter, or both? lolz) and we woke up to a room of foul & sour stench the next morning hahaha.

Saturday
Daddy woke up earlier for his golf game and as usual, he moved about nosily and I woke up too. Lucikly I managed to resume my sleep half hour later and finally woke up together with Renee at 9am, local time. Woah, it's been sooooo long since I've ever got a chance to sleep this many hours(well, I guess not so much, to many others :>).

Whilst Renee's having her milk, I quickly rang the reception desk to check on the arrangement, like the check-out time and the bus to Tering Bay Golf Club & Country Club to meet up with daddy & the rest. Apparently, the arrangment was not noted(daddy told me that he'll get the organiser to arrange), probably due to the change of staff(shift work?) and I've to make my own. However, as it's a Saturday, no late check-out is allowed and I hurriedly dailed for a room-service lunch and after the food's delivered, I began my mad rush of showering Renee, getting myself ready, getting her to eat up as much of the food as possible, packing/repacking('cos too many things as some were originally packed into daddy's golf bag) and I ended up having to throw away a couple of things to make way for the pillow that we took from the car to standby. But in the end, we have to throw away that pillow when we got home as we realised that the corner of the pillow was 'fouled' with the 'sour milk stench'... arrrghhh

When we finally met up with daddy, we still had to wait a while for them to 'finish the event up' and I roamed around the club with Renee. Renee saw the golf course and asked to play golf, of which, her daddy later obliged for a short last minute one with her.

As we're taking the later ferry back, we walked around abit more and it was when daddy didn't 'return' after he's gone in search of our car keys that I've almost lost our camera! He's left his mobile on the table and after we've waited awhile, I decided to go look for him instead. And concentrating on his mobile, I must have forgotten or dropped the camera(from my bag) on the chair, after I've packed up the stuffs into Renee' backpack.

Found daddy in one of the meeting rooms, playing cards with the gang, geez! Renee entertained them for a short while and most of them won money upon her arrival hahaha. Even our trip was like 80% paid for, from daddy's golf and card games' winnings :>.

Whilst waiting for the ferry, I suddenly realised that the camera's not in my bag and daddy asked his friend to contact the organiser to try and retrieve it...It was then that a guy whom must have heard us, approached and asked if the camera he's holding was ours, THANK GOODNESS!!! He's found it at the club and not wanting to hand it to the people there(where it'll most likely be a goner if he'd done so, hahaha), he thought to bring it back to Singapore and try to locate the owner. *PHEW*!

The return boat trip was alot better as the carrier was nicer, cleaner and much more comfortable. However, due to the long wait at the jetty, Renee had fallen asleep on my shoulder and I had a hard time trying to balance her head on my shoulder, clutching her tight and boarding the boat...

She woke up when we've arrived at the terminal and asked if we're going to take the boat hahaha. I told her that we've already taken the ride and she was sleeping throughout the journey and that we're heading our way home. She then told me : "mommy, I want to go back to the passport house". For one moment, I was wondering what that was and asked her, she said : "it's the small room...", then I realised she's talking about the hotel hahaha. She must have related travelling/hotel to the passport 'cos when I brought her for the photo-take, I've told her that we needed that to get her passport done so that she could go holiday with us hahaha.

We decided to go for our usual gathering at my mom's as we're celebrating the 'Father's day' for my dad and I quickly sms-ed and call my sis whilst que-ing for custom clearance. We made it to the dinner but as we've to leave early for home, Renee requested for her aunts Elsie and Li to come over her home hahaha. But Li was cleaning up the windows for my mom and Elsie later text me to say that they'll not be dropping by since it's already quite late - as well too, since I've gotta unpack/do laundry and daddy has decided last min to join his friends for another golf game in JB early tomorrow morning...

Overall, though it's kinda short, it has been a nice trip for us(especially Renee AND daddy) plus a trial-run for our 'future trips' and I've got quite abit of really nice snaps of Renee.

Renee must have got the kick from this trip, had requested to sleep on our bed with us tonight :)

A rushing day...

Super sleepy today! Had a little chat over the telephone with my gf, Vicky about our coming trip and by the time we hang up, it was already past 2am but I suddenly remembered that those travel containers need to be washed so I can fill them up with the necessary stuffs and I ended up going to bed after 3am...

Had wanted to take a nap before going out to get some stuffs but went out early instead, as I need to go get some travel medicines(just 4-5 normal drugs, cost S$35!, should hv got fromg GP) from the paediatric clinic before they close at 3pm.
Then, realising that my skincare order will be delivered today, I waited... Finally, the door bell rang but it wasn't my skincare parcel, it was the Jshoppers', unexpectedly! I had not received any confirmation nor shipment notice(probably due to my change of email address not being updated ontime by them) from them. Good thing I was waiting for my parcel(which was eventually 'missed' as it arrived half an hour after I've left home :<).

Hv ordered these tops for Renee as most of the apparels my sis got for her are more 'dressy' and I thought to get her some casual tees...the material is very light, great! cos it'll be good for the trips :

At the mall, I bought a Mustela sunblock/protecton for Renee(wah, cost S$33.80!) and a Coppertone spray(both in 50spf) for daddy, a travel hotplate cooker and a number of other stuffs for the trips(arms almost breaking from carrying the stuffs hahaha).
We got home with packed dinner at around 6:30pm and the spree organiser sms-ed me to ask if I'd like to meet her at Compass pt at 7:45pm to collect the sticker scenes. At first I hesitated 'cos we've just got back from there but thinking that I could bring it along this trip and get to meet Karen earlier next week, I called her to confirm the timing. However, she said that she'll be there around 8 instead and after some re-considerations, I called her again and she said she might be later than 8! Oh man!
In the end, she suggested sms-ing me when she's leaving AMK and I'll decide if it's too late for me to go over then... however, she only sms-ed me when she's about 10mins to arriving there(and daddy has already got home then), thus I still didn't get to see the stuffs :(
Also bought some organic vege from cold storage to try, as I've thought to cook porridge for Renee there but we later decided to skip cooking for this trip, just bring along her favourite milk bread.
I'll still cook her lunch to bring over there tomorrow and daddy even asked if I'm sure about doing that 'cos that'll mean having to wake up even earlier - what to do, she's our precious what... Moreover, the trip itinerary indicated that daddy & the rest will head straight to the golf club for tee-ing off(obviously the existance of Renee and Me were conveniently or perhaps, 'deliberately' forgotten by the person who jio-ed daddy to this trip) and we'll have to see if the organiser is able to send us both to the hotel first. If it's too troublesome or whatever and I have to wait for them to finish the first round, then at least Renee will have something to eat first.
Taking a break from the packing... geez, just a 2 days(full days) and 1 nite trip, yet still so much to pack(mostly Renee's! She even asked if I'm packing her bolster hahaha) and it's now back to more packing and checking...
Ok, see ya soon, folks! Have a nice weekend! :)

A day of rest...

Supposed to meet up with a spree organiser to collect the sticker scene artworks that both my friend, Karen and I have co-joined to purchase but she told me the timing too last min and I couldn't make it on time to go over. Daddy then asked if I'd be going out, and feeling the lethargic, I told him to go ahead with taking my car and I stayed home with Renee today - a day of rest...
Was actually very happy to hear good news on the artworks' arrival as they've been delayed for more than 1 mth already!(though we were slapped with quite a substantial shipping cost) and I'm almost out of artwork for Renee to do at home(those that're suitable for her to do, from the lot her cousin gave her, are only a few & quick to complete but fearing no artwork to bring on the trips, I dare not let her do the rest that I've bought/ordered). Am also thinking of bringing some of the scenes along, to the Batam golf trip in case we're really not doing anything and Renee might be bored there. Guess I'll just bring the other sticker artwork book(good thing I've not let her explore with it yet) and the Dora magnetic puzzles to this trip and try to collect the scenes by next week.

A tiring day...

It's like a half day off for daddy today 'cos he has to accompany us to collect Renee's passport and me, for my looong overdue check-up! However, as I've rescheduled for an appointment online for the pp collection, we didn't have to wait long - only 5 mins :D but this gave us abit of time gap before my check-up appointment and so we did a little browsing around at Paragon.
On the way to Paragon, I showed Renee her passport again and teased her that I wanna 'sayang' the girl in the photo 'cos she's such a good quiet girl and pointing to herself, she replied : "you want this girl? the 'Real one'? naughty one" and grinned. Cheeky girl!
At the clinic, Renee again, was dancing, singing, reading the magazines(out loud) and though we, her parents, are finding her abit noisy, most of the people waiting there were amused with her but still, we have to keep telling her to keep her voice down, not nice to disturb the others...
When my turn came, as expected, my gynae popped the question(which I believe he asked almost everyone who's only got 1 kid hahaha) when we'd like to have our 2nd...and started to ask some questions about Renee and commented about her development :) (not going to elaborate here, guess most parents of today's children would hear about the same thing also lah :D)
Then, when I was being checked by the gynae(scanning, papsmear...) behind the screen, Renee cried and when we were out of the gynae's room, she asked me whilst still sobbing: "mommy, your tummy still pain pain?"(she must have remembered that I've told her that the doctor 'carried' her out from my tummy, awww...).
Daddy was in a shopping mood today, maybe he'd felt that he's 'missed out the chance to shop' on Sunday night when he had to attend the wedding dinner :). So, we continued our little shopping spree after my clinical visit and our dinner. These browsings around got us some buys and today, I finally felt the GSS mood haha. 'Cos so far, my purchases have been made from overseas merchants and those I've got locally were non sales items, but today, I got a couple of good buys - 1 pair of shoes from Metro, 2 tops from NafNaf(1 of which I've wanted to get earlier but luckily didn't, as it's now on 20% discount) and another pair of trousers(non sales item though) from Monsoon heeee.
At a golf shop, I handed 1 kiddy golf club to Renee(just nice, it was for left-hand use) and she went happily by herself( she must have learnt if from tv hahaha) to the testing spot to 'play golf' haha. It's a pity that I didn't have my camera with me, so I had to make do with my handphone's...
As Renee didn't take her afternoon nap and with all the walkings, she was really tired by the time we were about to leave for home and asked to be carried. I told her that she's not to sleep in the car and she said "but I very tired" and true to her words, she knocked out on her car seat in less than a minute hahaha(even I dozed off too).
Tonight is the first time that she had continued sleeping even upon reaching home but just as I'm about to type here that I'd be crossing my fingers she won't wake up in the middle of the night or too early the next morning, there she came walking out of the room crying... I guess it might be the 'storm' that has woken her up - Yes, a 'storm', of cos it ain't the full fledged one that attacked other countries but nevertheless, it's one, in our own 'category'. The palm trees under our blocks looked like they're going to fall anytime! Anyway, it's just as well that she woke up now and I quickly changed her into her pyjamas, asked daddy to make milk for her, brushed her teeth, let her go toilet and tucked her back to bed(now daddy's taking over the 'job' as I called him in when I had to come out to tend to the laundry).
*Daddy just came out of the room and said that she's resumed her sleep....hope she sleeps tight this time :)

Bottle weaning II

As we all got in late last night, the three of us we woke up late(@ 9:30am) this morning kekeke.
Went to Punggol Plaza for breakfast and due to the 'hurry'(daddy always get very impatient when shopping for groceries/supermarket), I took 1 wrong tin of milk powder... Had wanted to go back there for an exchange after a nap but getting Renee to keep her toys got me so boiled up that I missed my chance and we went only after hers.
We got there late, after 4:30pm and so, I decided to pack some dinner back since daddy will be home later tonight as well.
Bottle weaning - still not fully successful yet...

After a week of bottle weaning(dur the day) since 2 Sundays ago, Renee's finally requested for her milk to be taken from the bottle again hahaha. I still tried to let her continue having them in the cup but she's been taking longer & longer to finish, grumbling halfway thru... so, I decided to just let her have her milk in a cup only for the afternoon feed so to prevent discontinuity of milk drinking...

Our weekend II - daddy's chauffeur

Yes, I finally took up the 'challenge' and sent daddy to Shangri-la Hotel. Renee was supposed to go with him but she decided to stick to me when we were going out, so daddy went alone.
By the time we both arrived at the 'open carpark' opposite Wheelock Place, it was about 7:40pm already and we're left with not much time to shop since it's 8:30pm when I'm done with my dinner at Dome. Walked around Isetan abit and soon it's time for the store to close for the day.
Having nowhere else to go, I took Renee out of the dept. store and when we passed by the Galetissimo ice-cream booth, she said she wanted to eat an ice-cream cone and so I went back there and get her a single scoop but prior to that, I have to tell her that it doesn't come with the cone, only cup(even if it does, I'd prefer not to, less messy with a cup) and I told her to look at some tourists eating from their cups and she nodded ok. Thinking that she may not finish it since it's not in a cone, I ordered what I like - which is the macadamia + caramel(wld prefer it w/out the caramel though, too sweet) but this girl chose her own flavor! This is her very own first order of ice-cream and she already know how to choose! She must have seen people choosing and she went to look around the tubs, geez...
I pointed to the one I've ordered but she insisted(pointing to it repeatedly, hahaha) on the 'choc hazel nut'. Luckily the guy serving hasn't scooped my previous order to the cup yet and I quickly got him to change to her choice. Then seeing that she's eating it up pretty fast, I took another spoon and started to share it. But when she saw that I took a few big spoonfuls, she got stingy, pushed the cup nearer to her right side and told me that I cannot eat anymore, aiyoh... So I pretended and told her that daddy just text and said that she's not to eat soo much, then she let me continue sharing it... A short while later, my friend Vicky text me and Renee, whom had thought otherwise, asked : "what did papa say?" hahahahaha.
Daddy had told us to pick him up later and when I saw a little '24 hr' note near the ice-cream booth, I had thought maybe we could just sit and wait around there till 10:30pm before we leave to pick daddy up. However, at 10pm, they started to clear/stack up the tables and chairs and I've to lead Renee to the carpark. Whilst in the car, Renee said : "I miss papa, so very much..." and when I told daddy about this, he's obviously very pleased :)

Our weekend

Began the 'route familiarisation' drive to Shangri-La hotel yesterday, as I intended to bring Renee with me to shop after sending Daddy to the dinner today, but I got confused with all the instructions given whilst making all the turns/lane switchings and when we got to Suntec City thereafter, I was abit blurred already "-". So much for the 'familiarisation'...
It's no wonder daddy suggested going to Suntec City for a Tony Romas dinner - it's because he wanted to get a watch from Dickson, aiyoh... I saw one that I really like too, but not sure if he'd(or could...)buy it for me *hint - birthday coming soon, daddy* lolz

We parked at Marina Sq and when we were walking towards Suntec City, I caught a glimpse of some nice apparels and so I rushed to have a look at them on our way back(why rush? 'cos we spent quite a bit of time at Dickson and by the time we walked back there after our dinner, it's already ard 8:30pm). Got myself a pair of trousers(S$113) and a top(S$83) from Top Shop - too bad, no discount though it's GSS! again, so much for the GSS...
Not sure if I'm still going to send/pick up daddy to/from the dinner or just have a relaxing dinner out with Renee. Shall see how things go later...

Princess Gowns!

Much as I'd hope that our Renee will not be into such thingy but being a girl as she is, I guess Eileen's right that it's just a matter of time hahaha. Some time ago, she began requesting for 'princess' stuffs and when her aunt Elsie heard about it, she brought some Disney princess gowns for her selection last Saturday.
Had a hard time choosing, but with the help of Daddy & Renee , we got these(they're in girl's size I supposed - much too big, so it's gonna be quite awhile before she gets to wear them)...:

This is in size S('Princess Ariel' print, we chose this due to its subtle colour and print). She didn't allow us to take the shrug(blue)off when she first tried it on hahaha - funny how the shrug fits her...
This is in size M - I personally like this piece :)
This piece, in smaller size specs, was given before her 3rd birthday(but too big for her then), perhaps she'd be able to wear it on her 4th birthday :)
