MaMa?

Not sure if it's so but both Renee and I heard Rachel called out 'mama' this evening!

I've left Rachel in her cot whilst her jie jie played with her in 'their' room and when I came back to fetch her to the living hall, she was all excited when she saw me and that's when she did that magical act!  Thereafter, when we asked her to try again, she couldn't, she just opened and closed her mouth trying to murmur the word but no sound came out, :(.

Then, as we were hving dinner(we placed her on the exersaucer next to our dining table) and she was making noise, I jokingly told her "call mama again and I'll carry you" and we all heard "ma" but I didn't carry her and so, when I asked her to do that again, she didn't....

Whether it was a mere incidental greeting or was she really ready to do that, I don't really mind, I'm just happy I heard that first murmur! :D

Rachel's 1st Ride

Had wanted to bring Renee to the Jacob Ballas children garden this morning but papa was too tired to do so(and I'm the one who has only 4hrs sleep!), so I just let both of them sleep on.

Then, before we went out in the later afternoon, I asked him to fix up the quinny zapp extra stroller as I wanted to check if Rachel would need a head support and he must have found me silly since Rachel can already support her head quite steadily now, hahaha blurr mommy, :D.

During the car ride, Rachel had fallen asleep as she was still straddled close to me by the carrier, but when I put her down on the stroller, she was alittle 'frightened' as it didn't feel as snug as the infant car seat(I rem she was also alittle afraid during her 1st few rides on the infant car seat) and had held-on rather tightly onto the straps, lolz.  We teased her abit and she began to relax with her laughter.

Thinking that she's ok with the stroller, I left them in search of my stuffs but when I came back to the playground, papa was carrying her and told me that she cried.   So, it's back to carrying Rachel on the carrier again for me...

After our dinner, again, I tried putting Rachel on the stroller and she seemed ok until I brought both Renee and her to Takashimaya where the sight of so many aunty sales assistants might be too overwhelming for her(but she didn't cry til they've played with her for a while...).  So, this is Rachel's 1st 'upgraded' ride on the stroller, hope it'll get better soon...

The Lantern Festival

The last time I went to the Chinese Garden was sooo many years ago, and it was also during the lantern festival(free tickets from Co.'s supplier then).  I remembered the spectacularity of its lantern display and had always wanted to bring Renee there when she was younger.  However, hubby's always saying that it's far(from SK that is, plus he always went to Jurong area for work, so it's like silly to come home from there and to go there again, to him la, :D) and so we've never got the chance to do so...

This year, being nearer(or rather at the central), I decided to bring my kids there(thanks to Sharmaine for inviting us 'cos it reminded me about it!  But as we needed to go to my mom's this Sun, we went on our own tonight instead).

After her session at Berries, I let her take a nap before her violin lesson and right after it, we headed straight to AMK hub(again!) for our dinner and groceries shopping.  Renee's very excited when she learnt that we'd be going there, but it was because she had thought I meant the Jacob Ballas children garden, hahaha(that place should be visited during daytime lah!).  However, it ended up that she was still the one who's had the most fun, with the rides, :).

She was almost persuaded to try on these 2 but backed out in the end, :)

As for the lantern display at the CG... it was nothing comparable to the view I was greeted with many many years ago.  This festival thingy will last til 18 Sept and I wouldn't suggest for anyone to go there unless U really have nothing better to do...(hv informed Sharmaine the same, so that she won't waste her $ and time there, hehehe) :D.

The Trampoline

Not long ago, I sighted a trampoline at the gym-room downstairs and as the gym's a small one, this also comes in a smaller size, which is good for my kids! Errm, I mean Renee, hahaha, Rachel can't bounce on it yet, :)  In any case, Renee hasn't tried on one before and she doesnt know that it exist in the gym yet.
Today, in the mood to bring the kids down, and since she's done her practice earlier as bided, I decided to bring her down to try it.  She brought her skooter along, luckily, 'cos there didn't seem to be a switch for the air conditioner when we got to the room and although it was windy enough when we opened up the door, we decided to call it quits after a short while and she went skooting at the playground instead, :).  Rachel?  She just looked on whilst her sister played and perhaps feeling bored as she can't do the same, she soon fell asleep on the carrier, heeee.

Before we head back home, I went to retrieve mails(the other pair of socks + wrist band arrived!) and thought to approach the guard house about the air-conditioner at the gym, but it started to drizzle and we decided to just go home, :).  Next time, we'd go try again, and perhaps, will get Renee to try the exercise ball? then(dunno what u call that, hahaha),:D.

Back home, again, Renee was excited at the sight of the socks and even more when she saw the wrist band!  She quickly asked to try it when I put it on Rachel's hand and soon she began to complain that she doesnt have one, haiz.  Then, it became my job to make her one, aiyoh!

Again, she complained that there's no diamonte on hers, so there it is, hahaha...

As a set on Rachel

The line(marks) on her legs were due to wearing these(sup to be knee guards, heee), :)

Princess Socks

My recent order of some girly/princess socks are finally here today!  Forgetting that I've got them under registered mail, I went to collect mails from our  mailbox and came back disappointed.  However, couple hours later, the postman delivered them to our doorstep and we're overjoyed!(Re and I.  In fact, she was more excited than me and had quickly took the pkg over from me as I was on the phone when the postman came...) lolz.

Socks and Knee Protectors(can even work as leg warmers for my baby, lolz

Angel winged romper(still too big for Ra though)

Why the pink one look bigger? lolz

This jie jie ar, aiming to have the knee protectors, aiyoh!

Next order on the way... comes with a matching wrist band!

Think I'm crazy, always buying baby stuffs when my sister already gave me soooo much!

Mid Autumn Festival

Renee has never really got to 'carry' a lantern like the way we used to(or even the other kids we saw down our SK block last time) and this year, I make sure she gets to do so.

I had intially wanted Yunita to prepare extra fried wantons and chicken wings to bring down but papa only wanted to eat mooncake downstairs.  However, Renee wanted so I kept some from our dinner, heeeee(which only both of us ate in the end anyway, lolz).

We had wanted to share our mooncakes with our neighbours and we met them, 1 after another on our way to the poolside, which was just nice, 'cos we could let them try what we've brought down with us, before bringing 1 to them each.   To my surprise, these caucasians liked it! hahaha.

Tonight, we were supposed to be watching the moon and 'playing' with the lanterns but in the end, both Renee and I were busier eating the snacks whilst papa enjoyed his mooncake with his cup of coffee, than doing what's originally intended, hahaha.  Rachel?  Of course she can't appreciate yet, she just fussed whenever I sat down, :D.

Not sure if it's due to the haze, we weren't able to see the moon nor the stars and just as I've feared, it rained... luckily not before we've finished our food, :). (but the drizzling stopped when we got home.....)

*Then, just before hubby went to bed, he told me that I'd have to follow him sending Renee to school tomorrow.  Why?  To familiarise myself with the route as he's got golf game on Wednesday!  Irritating.  Initially I told him that I don't want to do it, 'cos I don't intend to drive anytime soon, especially with little Rachel to think about now.  However, since he gave me his word that it'll only be this one time off(I doubt...), I'm ok to oblige, heeee...(so long din drive liao)

End of September School Holidays

Time really flies, and the 1 week school holidays have ended.  Tomorrow will be the start of the next and last term of the year and Renee is sure looking forward to it.

Just before the school holidays began, we were informed that the fees for this last term will be revised to include the additional Hanyu Pinyin programme.  It's explained that the additional fee being the engagement of an out-sourced specialised teacher in this area but given the short time span, the programme will only be basic(this shows that the school really take the parents' feedbacks(ex parents' some more...) seriously, unlike Renee's previous school).  Although Renee has learnt her basics with Berries but we thought it might be good for her to re-enforce her basics at school especially since the programme is said to include some fun activities.

More Work For Mummy...

Renee has become complacent again lately and I noticed teacher Yin was abit more stern in correcting her mistakes/bad habits yesterday(good for her!).

Towards the end of the lesson, teacher Yin suddenly asked for Renee's previous results and then, he beckoned Renee to work harder.  He also didn't allow her current piece to be passed citing the absence of performance quality.  Hearing this, Renee tried to complain but teacher Yin told her that she can't be expecting to pass each piece within a week like before anymore, as the pieces get harder and longer.  It'd be even more so when she embarks on Suzuki volume 4 where the pieces would be much longer to play.  Hearing this, Renee groaned, hahaha.  Teacher Yin then urged us to get the said book ready since she would be needing it in due course and that's what we did today.  Feeling bored at home, we decided to go out and we bought the said book.  I've also got myself a music theory 'explanation' book, in the hope that I'd be able to help Renee understand the theory better - But I doubt I'd have the time to go through the book though, haiz..

MoonCakes

It's been a long time since hubby last met up with this overseas client and so they stayed til he's finished his bottle, to catch up?

Anyway, as long hubby didn't drink as much, it's ok but he came home only at 5am...(he went to Renee's room to sleep with her til 12pm today!)

This is the box of mooncakes the client has given us :
